I liken a seed to a USB. It’s full of information that requires the right conditions for it to perform. It needs to be plugged into a port and linked with software to open up the encrypted information it contains. A seed, packed full of genetic information, requires the right conditions to turn it on. Contact with soil, moisture and, once opened, access to sunlight. Some of the stored information is centuries old, collated to grow the seed true to type.
