Seeking the Gospel Truth

Scholars say that that letter to the “churches of Galatia” may have been the first epistle that Paul wrote. Probably because he explains in the first chapter where he got his knowledge of the Gospel of Christ. Why is he an authority? He’s the “Johnny-come-lately” of the apostles. He encountered Jesus after the resurrection. He was one of the Pharisees who’s stood by and watched Stephen get stoned to death .

As I record this, there is turmoil in Israel. It seems this very psalm is coming to life again. There are protests in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem (see the videos on my blog, the link is below). Unmistakably, when a nation’s people turn away from God, they suffer the consequences. This is what happens when they don’t learn from their history. Are you scared yet? Obviously, if you are human, you should be. However, if you are a born-again Christian, you shouldn’t be because Jesus told us exactly what would be happening in the Last Days. Undeniably, we are in the Last Days! Additionally, He told us not to panic because these things MUST take place! Jesus said…

“And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t follow immediately.” Matthew 24:6 NLT

In other words, it’s going to get much worse, before the Rapture, when Jesus comes to get His true believers. Therefore, we must be patient and hold on to the strength, peace, and hope that is only found through a relationship with Jesus Christ. Check out the encouraging words from Paul at the end. Jesus said regarding the last days, “When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah’s day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat. People didn’t realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes.” Matthew 24:37-38 NLT

Across the street from house is a party venue. Today, there was a wedding. As I watched the couple walk up the aisle and stop and kiss, my thought was, “They’re so young!” Then, I remembered the passage above. In one way, life will be just as it was in Noah’s day. Most people don’t realize what’s going on outside of their of their lives. However, those who read the Bible — study the Bible — know what’s going to happen. Because Jesus warned us. Let’s dig in…

Someone said this week that we weren’t in the “last days”, we are in the “last hours“. You may think, “Well, we’ve had wars, earthquakes, lawlessness, and economic crises for centuries.” Sure, but what stands out now is the frequency — one event after another in a short amount of time — as well as the severity. Clearly, just like the birth pains that Jesus predicted in His Olivet Discourse. Thus, we can’t ignore the signs that we are on the brink of a major global crisis.
