Soli Deo Gloria — To God Alone Be the Glory!

You’d think that once King David was ruling all of Israel that he wouldn’t feel shame, but he did. It’s enough for him to unload his feelings to God in this psalm. It’s really easy for us to feel ashamed of our past sins. Even the ones you’ve tried to bury. Somehow, with the help of Satan, those bad, shameful deeds rise from the depths of our memories. That’s when you need to trust your life to Jesus.

Incidentally, passages from this psalm are quoted by Jeremiah, Jonah, and Jesus. See if you can pick out one of Jesus’ famous last words. Let’s dig in…

Soli Deo Gloria — To God Alone Be the Glory!

Advent is here! Advent, it’s the season when most of the world prepares to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Though we don’t know exactly when Jesus was born — even the year is fuzzy — the early church leaders chose December 25th, a pagan festival day, for the celebration. It was a marketing ploy to get Romans to accept Christianity in the 1st century. (It’s amazing how many pagan rituals were adopted by the church back then, just to appease the pagan Romans.)

Why didn’t they just look at the Book of the Prophet Isaiah? He is the most-quoted of the prophets in the New Testament — 21 times! Isaiah’s name means, “the Lord has saved”, which confirms why Jesus came into the world and became human — to save the world through Him. That, my friend, is the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Let’s take a look at some of those prophetic passages from Isaiah…

Soli Deo Gloria — To God Alone Be the Glory!31

Joy – it’s hard to find joy in life these days. Nevertheless, when we surrender our whole lives to Jesus, we receive a supernational joy! This psalm was written in 1003 BC by King David, who is finally king of a united Israel (2 Samuel 5, 1 Chronicles 11). Let’s dig in…

Soli Deo Gloria — To God Alone Be the Glory!

According to the religious and political leaders at the COP27 conference in Egypt, we have failed to protect the planet and we need to repent. So, we now have a new set of commandments for climate change! If we look at these through a Biblical Worldview, we can see the hypocrisy, blasphemy, and lies that Satan wants us to believe. Soli Deo Gloria — To God Alone Be the Glory!

Doctrines of demons, false messiahs, false prophets, and false teachers. We were warned by Jesus, Peter, Paul, and in this short letter, by John. From the 1st century to the 21st century, we have been deceived by churches, religions, and cults with demonic motives. We need to listen and understand to what John tried to tell us way back then. Let’s dig in…
