Select BGM

Gilligan's Island, Pee-Wee's Playhouse, The Monkees, WKRP in Cincinnati, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, what do these have in common? They never made it to 100 episodes. Jon and Rich hit a new milestone with the 100th episode of Select BGM! It's a grab-bag mix of anything goes music selection but we'll call it Auntie's choice. A big thanks to our small core of dedicated listeners. We'll keep delivering the best in "quality entertainment" until the Goat Lord calls us home.

When that time comes, just accept the crazy vibrations and unease. Let yourself slip into the abyss and be glad you aren't around for when the urine leaks out. Tall dudes who can lift coffins don't care and the Jawas in that other dimension are there awaiting your arrival. This week the themes are of death, requiems, or things you learn in trig, if you didn't suck at math. Are there 99 or 6 million ways to die? Who cares, choose one at Select BGM.

Avert your gaze from the ishy water back up to the moon and let out a howl, because we're back with a beast of an episode. Give into your primal appetite through songs of fangs, wolves, and furry creatures of all sorts. Throw out your VHS tapes, and throw on your Members Only jacket. It's time to hit the alley and get the good ending at Select BGM.

Three years ago, a friend of mine asked me to say some MC rhymes. Well, we settled on a videogame music show instead. When the Matrix glitches, you know you've had too many and should cut down, but not for this one. Reality and screen-door effect merge in this episode as we present you board games, the Las Vegas strip, and two C64 tracks. Tune in and make sure not to plug your analog hole at Select BGM.

Put some pantyhose over your face and grab the 12 gauge because it's Crime Time! If that's not your speed then put on your yellow trench coat, head to the park and do your thing. Break loose and throw caution to the wind because Jon and Rich just don't care. Speak into your wrist watch and phone in another rambunctious episode at Select BGM.

Show me that smile again because when the world don't move to the beat of just one drum you take the good, you take the bad you take them both and there you have, Select BGM. Boss related themes take soundstage 3 this week as Jon and Rich are set in their ways, losin' track of the days. Remember, Select BGM is filmed in front of a live studio audience. Sha-na-na-na.

When you realize you don't have what it takes, just give up. If you aren't cut out for real life, crush the red pill and blue pill, snort them both, and let the weirdness take you away. This is another Demoscene episode, where mystical geometry, pumping jams, and Hollywood flair bring the sequel you haven't been looking for at Select BGM.

Oh my, this week is filled to the gills with some fantastic siren songs from the one and only TurboGrafx-16. That's right, we're dedicating a full episode to that necromantic hybrid beast from the East. Is it 8-bit or is it 16-bit? Who cares? Rip open your bag of beef jerky, crack open a Mountain Dew and pretend you also once had a TurboGrafx-16 at Select BGM.

We're back in the saddle again bringing you the first episode of Season 8. Rich talks about his geriatric steel wheelchair cruise, Jon gets back into metal, and Geordi beams down a mishmash of bitchin' tunes via his magic reading rainbow visor and rocks the party. The end of the world is here for sure this time and Geordi makes it go because he is smart at Select BGM.

The curtain falls on another run of Select BGM as Rich and Jon select their sweetest samples from this season of sloppy showmanship. Just remember, you can't deliver quality Manwich without the slop. Look for our return the weekend of September 23rd. As always thanks for listening, London Calling, and Geordi makes it go at Select BGM.
