Select BGM

There's an explosive kick from the Intermountain West and it's called Select BGM! Step out of your Hooverville, strap on your gear and get ready for some raucous selections of hard driving, hard hitting, fast and frantic video game music. Jon and Rich wrap up the regular season with an explosive punch and the usual devil may care attitude. You paid for the full seat but you'll only need the edge at Select BGM.

Step up, dig your toes in the dirt and get a feeling, then just go off the rails and make it happen. This week the patterns come together and you tighten your laces because it's time to get real. It's crazy and scary, but you're a soldier and ready for the action. You've come a long way, and it's time to do some demonstration of your l337 skills at Select BGM.

You gotta farm those License Points, die to learn from your mistakes, and use Spark Shock to put Magnet Man in his place. Respecting the process is paramount when it comes to succeeding at all things in life. Jon and Rich select songs from games where you're only as good as your grind, and where the battle of attrition will eventually pay off. Here at Select BGM we'd respect the process too, if we knew what it was to begin with.

Japanese music reigns supreme this week as we bring you an episode focused on anime. No, this isn't a definitive best of or anything, this is just a picking of things that sound good and making them go, and then of course a random smattering of things that should probably be there. We're not weaboos or closet otaku, so what you get are songs of devilish females, CD jukeboxes from the future, and a distinct lack of tentacles. Hop onto the back of a giant wolf and ride into feral majesty at Select BGM.

Staying focused is the name of the game when you claw your way to the top in this week's theme. Put down the ice cream and get back onto the rocky road of life. You can keep a foot in the gutter and a fist in the gold, or you can just ride the bus down to your dad's downtown hotel where dinner is served in a paper bag at Select BGM.

His name is Dio and he dances on the sand. Just like that shiny tiger ridin' through a dusty land. Welcome to episode 85 where Rich and Jon select video game songs with a distinctly 80s vibe. There's a thunder in your heart, it's construction time again, and you know this much is true because it's always RAD here at Select BGM.

After bumping off enemies and breaking through walls, sometimes you need to kick back by the Roda Tree and take it Ys-E. This week Jon and Rich play selections from the Ys Game series. Party with the Goddesses but watch out for the, gimme dat, gimme dat, oh yeah! Join Adol, Dogi, Feena, Reah, Lilia, and friends as they adventure into endless history at Select BGM.

Last week we lazed out and didn't give you any new music, but this week we're back bringing you the illest tracks around. Themes of sickness, vacation, and summer are on the plate and ready for consumption. If you don't feel like the beach, then down a bottle of cough medicine and pop a Select BGM cassette into Soundwave for the best medicine around.

It's not a cliche EMO band name but this week's theme on Select BGM! We present songs from Video Games that didn't make the final cut. Whilst on this week's magical toad-throating adventure, Jon and Rich ride their soap box through Salt Lake City's Hooverville with a final stop at the Hamlet of Heavy Metal. Like quality control for this podcast, stay unused at Select BGM.

That lazy generation and their heavy metal computers bring you another fantastic episode. This week we play songs from various generations of consoles and computers to create a hodgepodge of mediocrity. All you idiots with your acronyms and dance-club wisdom should tune in and let the jams help you revisit those magic lands where you'll learn that the less things change, the more they stay the same at Select BGM.
