Selena Gomez is getting real. The superstar singer and actor is opening up about her serious mental and physical illnesses in her new documentary “My Mind & Me,” which just dropped today on Apple+. In the doc, which was filmed over the course of six years, the “Only Murders in the Building” star opens up about her battles with both lupus and bipolar disorder. Selena says even though it was hard for her to share her story, she agreed to do it to help others dealing with the same challenges to feel less alone. It’s always refreshing to us when a celebrity gets vulnerable in an effort to spread awareness, but are stars like Selena obligated to use their platforms this way?
WARNING: If you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, there is always help available. The Suicide & Crisis Lifeline provides free and confidential support 24/7 for you or your loved ones. Simply dial 9-8-8 if you need to reach out.
