In this raw discussion I talk about the saying "self care isn't selfish" and how it may be a bit harder to embrace in Asian American culture. I go into why Asian Americans tend to stigmatize self care, seeing it as "selfish" or "a waste of money". Included is a small practice to shift your mindset around self care if you have been feeling these ancestral voices spook you around caring for yourself. Finally, I give you actionable steps you can take to integrate self-care daily then work your way up to lead a life of balance, joy and gratitude! Even if you don't have an Asian American upbringing, this discussion is for you if you want to hear a unique perspective.
