Self-Care Vs Self-Preservation

Listen Later

I used to think self-care was something I had to figure out completely on my own, but after many burnouts, realized I’d taken it too far. It became clear the version of self-care we’re fed by society might be quietly wearing us down and that it’s missing a few critical complements.

On the flipside, I’m sharing a key element to self-care and well-being: self-preservation. I dive deep into how to set standards that protect not only your peace, but your overall wellness. I share how saying “no” and letting people go has become a staple in my self-care and one of the most caring things we can do for ourselves. This episode is honest, unfiltered, and might just shift the way you treat your own well-being.

Here are the Highlights:

(02:21) The misconceptions about self-care

(06:10) The role of relationships in self-care

(14:29) What is self-preservation and why is it so important?

(32:51) Some practical steps for self-preservation

(36:02) Community’s role in all of this

(36:23) Learning your limits and setting boundaries
