Senior doctors have released a roadmap to achieve health equity within twenty years.

But such equity would take a century to achieve at current rates.

A new report by the Association of Salaried Medical Specialists Toi Mata Hauora says not only is there a gap in life expectancy between Māori and pakeha, the life expectancy gap between wealthy and poor New Zealanders is widening.
