On the night of February 25, 2023, Jade Benning and her boyfriend, former Tennessee Titans scout Blaise Taylor, sat together painting canvases for the nursery of their unborn daughter. Hours later, Jade was rushed to a Nashville hospital, deathly ill. Taylor told 911 she was having an allergic reaction. The truth, prosecutors would later argue, was far darker: her drink had been laced with a lethal dose of cocaine.

Jade's unborn daughter, a baby girl she'd already named Ivy, died two days later. Jade herself was taken off life support and died on March 6 — her 25th birthday. It would be another year before Taylor was arrested and charged with her murder.

This episode follows the case from that final night — the nursery paintings, the frantic phone call to a friend, the medical evidence that unraveled Taylor's story — through the nine-day trial that ended in his conviction, and the devastating victim impact statement from Jade's mother, who said her daughter believed, until the very end, that she was safe.

On a quiet Sunday afternoon in Washington Heights, police arrive for a routine welfare check — and find 27-year-old Lovay Williams dead inside her own apartment, her seven-year-old daughter still there beside her. Neighbors described Lovay as a woman who kept to herself, who they rarely saw without her child, and gave no outward sign that anything was wrong. Crown Heights, Brooklyn (NY) – On August 18, 2026—30‑year‑old Shakeema Davis hosted a barbecue at Lincoln Terrace Park—a simple gathering meant for family, and friends. But as the night went on, an unexpected visitor arrived– 

25-year-old Deandre Creary, a man Shakeema had gone on only one date with, whose interest had turned into obsession.

Witnesses say Creary spent the night pressing her attention, growing more aggressive with every drink he consumed. When Shakeema rejected his sexual advances, the tension erupted and in front of her 7‑year‑old son, Creary allegedly attacked Shakeema, stabbing her repeatedly as witnesses screamed for help. 

Creary fled New York, sparking a multi‑state search. His arrest brought answers, but not relief, to a community grappling with the brutality of a killing rooted in entitlement, obsession, and intimate partner violence. 

This episode traces the final hours of Shakeema’s life, the investigation that followed, and the rising pattern of domestic violence that emerges when rejection becomes a trigger for rage.

Parkville, Maryland — On April 21, 2024–Shakeia Allen had just moved into her new apartment hoping for a fresh start. Instead, her final moments became a desperate plea for safety. Police say Shakeia was chased through the parking lot by her estranged boyfriend, Amir Johnson, who then shot her multiple times at close range as witnesses screamed for him to stop.

For more than two years, Johnson remained on the run. The U.S. Marshals offered a reward for his capture, but all leads went cold, and her family lived in the shadow of unanswered justice. Then, in August 2026, everything shifted: Johnson was arrested in Maine on unrelated domestic violence charges and finally indicted for Shakeia’s murder. 

This episode traces Shakeia’s life, the terror of that night, the long manhunt that followed, and the staggering outcry of intimate partner violence that continues to claim the lives of women across the country.

Baltimore, Maryland–17-year-old Jada Sellers was larger than life. Jada was an honor student, an athlete, and a daughter with a bright future ahead - as she anticipated stepping into her senior year of high school. 

On July 31, 2026, Jada was shot in Southwest Baltimore and fought for her life for twelve days before succumbing to her injuries.

Police identified a suspect — but the case took a turn that no one saw coming.

Crawford County, GA—On Valentine’s Day 2020, 22-year-old Fort Valley State University student Anitra Gunn disappeared.

What initially appeared to be a missing-person investigation would soon become a homicide investigation when Anitra’s body was discovered days later in a wooded area in Crawford County, Georgia. An autopsy determined that she died by homicidal violence, and investigators ultimately charged her boyfriend, DeMarcus Little, with her murder.

But Anitra’s story is not simply about how she died. It is about the relationship that prosecutors described as jealousy, manipulation, threats, and possessiveness—and what happened when Anitra wanted it to end.

Hollywood, California- In September 2025, a disturbing discovery led investigators to a case that would capture national attention — the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. 

Celeste’s remains were discovered inside the trunk of a vehicle belonging to musician David Anthony Burke, known professionally as D4vd. 

Authorities later ruled Celeste’s death a homicide.
