I still can't believe it. 10k. That's a lot of people! And I'm so grateful!!
But this episode isn't about me. It's about you, and how you can utilise some of these content tips to grow whatever your platform of choice is!
Because content is king.
My first tip though is a bonus tip and that is to embrace beginnings luck! Sometimes it can be a GOOD thing to be starting a platform from scratch and not be limited by all the "rules" that you don't know!
Tip #1 is about choosing content people are searching, avoid doing what you know is important without first starting with what people THINK they want.
Tip #2 is to make your content entertaining. Don't be afraid to show your personality, or to use your hands as your talk or speak more like you're reading a children's story rather than a eulogy. People will be more drawn in and more likely to hang around.
Tip #3 is to share great content. You know your stuff! So share it well. What you have in your brain can be so helpful to another person. Meet your audience where they're at and share your content in a way that grows with them. And don't be afraid to do it your way with your unique spin!

Should you use trends in your visual branding? Or is that unwise?
In this episode of the Seriously in Business podcast, host Jacqui Naunton, a professional graphic designer, delves into the topic of trends in branding and design.
Trends have their place! But we need to make sure to not just follow them blindly. A trend can help your brand to look modern and up with the times BUT a trend can also make you look the same as everyone else and date quickly.
Instead, research your brand deeply and choose a current trend that suits your business (not just one that looks pretty) and tweak it to make it UNIQUE to you. This will help you avoid looking like a cookie cutter of every other business following the trends.
Already have a brand? Consistency in your brand is far more important than following trends and updating things all the time - BUT you can make little tweaks to your brand if you’d like to keep a more modern take. I.e. Slightly tweak a font or a colour.
Listen now to see how you can apply trends to your own visual brand.

ABOUT AMY:
AMY LAURENS is an Australian author of fantasy fiction for all ages. Her story Bones Of The Sea, about creepy carnivorous mist and bone curses, won the 2021 Aurealis Award for Best Fantasy Novella. Amy has also written the award-winning portal-fantasy Sanctuary series about Edge, a 13-year-old girl forced to move to a small country town because of witness protection, the humorous fantasy Kaditeos series, following newly graduated Evil Overlord Mercury as she attempts to acquire a castle, the young adult series Storm Foxes, about love and magic and family in small town Australia, and a whole host of non-fiction, both for writers AND for people who don’t live with constant voices in their heads.
Amy lives with her husband and two kids in suburban Canberra. She used to be a high-school English teacher, and she was once chewed on by a lion. (The two are unrelated. It was her right thumb.) Amy loves chocolate but her body despises it; she has a vegetable garden that mostly thrives on neglect; and owns enough books to be considered a library. Of course. Oh, and she also makes rather fancy cakes in her spare time.
