Since its foundation, both the Spirit of God and the spirit of the antichrist have been speaking in the church. Therefore, individual Christians must examine every message that claims to be truth from God. Messages must be tested against the the apostolic doctrine recorded in Scripture through the Holy Spirit. That same spirit dwells within all God's children and keeps them from listening to false teaching.

If we are walking in agreement with our redeemed conscience, then we know that our repentance and faith are genuine and we can be confident in our relationship with God. That confidence gives us boldness in prayer, because God has promised to answer the requests of those who's hearts are being led by Him.

Love and hate are known by their actions. Hate kills its brother. Love kills itself (laying down its own life for another.) There is no middle. God's children will be known by their love.

We who have believed on Jesus have been born again as the children of God. This is a source of joy and hope for us as believers. This hope causes true children of God to separate themselves from sin. The order is important. Being God's child leads to holy living. Holy living does not make us children of God. Those who keep on sinning prove they are of the Devil not God.

True followers of Christ don't think by the world's standards or desire what the world offers. Instead, they follow the Lord's commands at face value, trading this world's passing pleasures for the eternal joys of heaven and fellowship with the Father.

At every stage of our Christian walk, the true believer's identity is not found in his own accomplishments but rather in the accomplishments of Christ. Because Christ's work is finished and perfect we have an unshakable identity in him. Knowing this prepares us to combat whatever lies our enemy tempts us with.

The limitless God became became frail flesh and blood to share and redeem our humanity. Yet, the lowly Jesus of Bethlehem is now the centerpiece of all creation, worshiped forever. Amen!
