Like the children of Israel who entered the Promised Land, God has amazing promises for each and every one of us. This message will encourage us to boldly believe God for those promises, and will provide practical principles to see them come to fulfillment.

In this final sermon about David’s heart of faith in the face of deferred kingship. David clings to his anointing even after the enemy rejects him and his men talk about stoning him. The power of strengthening ourselves in the Lord (1 Sam 30:6) is just as powerful for us today.

Most of us do not have Kingdom Eyes to see the best in those who persecute us. We use harsh words for those that wrong us in the simplest ways let alone those that are our enemies. Yet we see in the life of David that he understood the words of Eph 6:12 “we do not fight against flesh and blood.” He was able to distinguish between the enemy and those ravaged by the enemy. When we have a heart like his, we too can have Kingdom eyes to see.

When the enemy comes after you, what do you start believing? All of us will endure attacks. Attacks that will either leave us rooting ourselves in our identity in Jesus or they will leave us curled up asking, why is God allowing this to happen? God wants every believer to be able to recognize attack for what it is—a tool of the enemy to distract us from our Spiritual Destiny.

On the way to slay the giant David had to reckon with both family and a king that did not believe in him. He was chosen by God but others could not see that in him and tried to bring him down to their level. We, like David, not only have giants we have to face but individuals who don’t believe God slays giants through shepherd boys .

The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart (1 Sam 16:7). Our heart is the one thing we can offer to the Lord, in fact it is the one thing He wants.

Many times believers waste their energy focusing their prayers on that which is already theirs. We exhaust ourselves with a spirit of lack when it is the joy of heaven to pour out every spiritual blessing to us. The Father’s words to His children are this “everything I have is yours” (Luke 15:31). Those that live from reality in the Kingdom live from this privilege.

Psalm 18:39: For thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle: thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

As believers, we have all been drafted into battle against the devil and all the kingdom of darkness which follows after him. To effective battle against them, the first half of this message helps us understand that the battle is real. The second half of the message briefly describes some of the spiritual weapons that we have to not only fight, but but win!

In Ephesians 6:12 Paul tells us that our fight is not against ourselves or others but powers and principalities of this world. One of the most effective ways to battle the devil is through a deeper relationship with Christ.

While we so often associate the Sword with the Bible in Eph 6:17 Paul uses the word Rhema, which means spoken word. This is good news to those who have a deep longing for intimacy with Jesus, who want to hear Him. He wants to be heard!
