Jesus turns the expectations of following God on their head. The leaders of Jesus' day try to find ways to not follow God but Jesus tells them how following him looks different than the world.

Jesus was with his disciples for a while now yet they didn't really understand who he was or why he was there. He was kind of hidden in plain sight. In today's podcast we look closer at the implications of the transfiguration and what it means to follow Christ.

Jesus had many followers and they all have distinct qualities. One of the favorites is Peter. He tends to speak quickly and think afterward. This chapter of Mark's gospel account is a reminder that we need to not only admire Jesus but also live out his plan.

Mark three is all about Jesus doing healings and selecting his disciples, but we're going to focus on the transition between chapters 2 and 3. This transition is really critical to the understanding of what the sabbath is and why it exists and why the people of Jesus' day had such a problem with it.
