One of the most deceptive aspects of sin is that it tricks us into thinking it is original. We may believe that the Word of God does not direct our actions, or that we have found a loophole in God’s Law, or that our situation is unique.

The apostle Paul sets for the central doctrine of the Christian faith: we are not saved by who we are or by our works, but by the work of Jesus Christ, received by faith (Galatians 2:15-16)

Jesus was born for a purpose, and that was “to save sinners” like you and me.
