The Olivet Discourse found in Mark 13 (along with Matthew 24 and Luke 21) is an intriguing chapter that deals with both the destruction of the temple in AD 70 and the second coming of Christ at the end of the age.

The Christian should live in humble dependence upon God, always pursuing His will and seeking in everything to obey and please Him.

The Bible does not give us detailed instructions for every event or issue in life. What it does give us is a clear knowledge of principles we are to live by, in light of the grace that God gives.

The Christian ministry is not just a detached exposition of theology. Ministry does include the transmission of the truth of God’s Word to others, but there is more than that.

The good news of the gospel is what the prophets searched for, the apostles declared, and what the angels longed to look into.
