Adam preaches 1 Timothy 3:14-16. These verses explain why Paul wrote the letter to Timothy. They define what the Church is supposed to be, and they end with a hymn that reveals the Church's Master.

Adam concludes Matthew's introduction of Jesus as the Messiah in Matt. 4:12-17. Even Jesus' movements from city to city confirmed His Messianic claims by fulfilling OT prophecy, and His spoken message announced the good news of the Messiah's arrival.

Adam preaches 1 Tim. 3:8-13, which presents qualifications for the office of deacon and deaconess. Christ designed deacons to be servant examples to the entire church, fleshing out the direction of the elders.

Adam continues through Matthew in 4:1-11. Far more than illustrating how to deal with temptation, Jesus' temptation vividly proves His claim to deity.

Adam preaches 1 Tim. 3:1-7. Christ clearly demands that elders meet His qualifications. His standards are high, but they must be clearly understood and insistently upheld in the Church.

Adam continues through Matthew, preaching 3:13-17. Matthew presents four marvels that announce Jesus to be the Messiah--Jesus came to be baptized, John tried to stop Him, the Spirit came from heaven, and the Father spoke. The Messiah was associated with the remnant, anointed by the Spirit, and announced by the Father.

Adam continues in Matthew 3. Verses 1-12 present the revelation of, rebuke from, and reasons for John's ministry. John demanded true repentance in order to prepare Israel for the Messiah's coming, a demand still put on those who would receive the Messiah today.

Adam preaches 1 Tim. 2:11-15. Though not difficult to understand, this passage can be tough to apply. However, God clearly establishes roles within the Church, roles that in no way diminish equality but do establish leadership organization.

Adam preaches Matthew 2 in its entirety. Jesus is the Messiah, as seen from chapter 1 in His genealogy and virgin birth and now in chapter 2 in His fulfillment of prophecy. Jesus fulfills God's promises made centuries earlier--born in Bethlehem, called out of Egypt, rescued from Ramah, called a Nazarene.

David continues the series from the pastorals, preaching 1 Tim. 2:8-10. God places specific, direct requirements on both men and women in public worship. Both must come to worship with heart attitudes that result in external actions.
