Abraham owning property in the Promise Land demonstrates his confidence that God will make good on His promises and provide; not only physical land, but a new heavens and new earth in which righteousness reigns.

In Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son, not only are we given a glorious picture of the gospel, we are also shown that faith without obedience is dead. True faith is always confirmed by the fruit of good works.

Although the people of God are often filled with contradiction, God's covenant commitment to save and to sanctify through the Promised Son cannot be thwarted. Since this process is all of grace, believers must delight themselves in Christ in order to run with endurance the race set before them.

In response to fear, God graciously reminds us of His past provision, seen most clearly in Christ's death on the cross, and confirms His future promise that the glory of heaven will be worth any present suffering.

God orchestrates all of history including an international military campaign in order to put on display our glorious kinsmen redeemer, priest, and king, who is willing and able to save us to the uttermost.
