The remedy for a troubled heart is faith in Jesus Christ, trusting the promises of God that He will never leave us nor forsake us and that there's a place prepared for us in heaven. Therefore, true believers in Christ are free to live godly lives that are characterized by peace.

To bring hope and humility to the people of God, our kind and sovereign Lord tears down pride and the arrogant city of man so that He might exalt us at the proper time and prepare us for the heavenly city, the city of God, where righteousness will reign for all eternity.

God's covenant to never again judge the world through a flood foreshadows the new covenant, which is made through a greater priest and a better sacrifice, whereby He promises to remember our sins no more and enables us to walk in true righteousness.

God's Judgment is the result of man's sin, corruption, and violence; but because of His grace and mercy, He provides salvation through the obedience of the seed of the woman. Noah and the flood point us to a coming judgment and the salvation that is available in Christ alone.

We must engage in God's Temple-building mission (i.e., the mission of the church) with hope and confidence, relying on His Sovereign Spirit and trusting in the Savior who will finish His work through the proclamation of His invincible Word.

Entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven requires perfect love for the brethren. Our sin and need for salvation is seen in our anger that leads to hateful actions, but by faith in Christ, the Spirit of God transforms us into people who love God, love others, and are reconciled in our relationships.

As the darkness of sin grows and the curse of death reigns, the light of God’s grace and mercy shines bright in the foreshadowing of One to come who will offer rest for our weary souls and eternal life to all those who embrace Him by grace through faith.

In the battle between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent, God is faithful to continue the seed of the woman until Christ gains the final victory, crushing the seed of the serpent, mankind’s greatest enemy the devil, through His death and His more righteous blood than Abel.

As elect exiles in Christ we have been changed and are being changed into the likeness of Jesus. Peter reminds us that our thoughts, actions, and affections should be markedly different as we live out our lives in Christ together in the Body.

The unfolding promise of the gospel is that the seed of the woman, Jesus, will crush the seed of the serpent, mankind's greatest enemy the devil, through His death, burial, and resurrection. Genesis is not only all about Jesus, but it tells the story of how God protects the line that takes us to Jesus.
