Warning! Today bubbles will be burst. In Part 1 I challenge the idea of self-sabotage. I invite you to consider how self-sabotage is actually a trauma response, and explain that defining our body's act of inertia as "sabotage", is discrediting its effort to keep us safe. I then use my journey with chronic dieting and eating disorders to illustrate this. In Part 2 I answer a listener's question about how to handle a friend who repeatedly crosses their boundaries and who doesn't make an effort. I use Gottman's relational theory of "bid's for connection", my theory of "ladder of trust", and Rosenberg's theory of nonviolent communication to contextualize their experience and provide possible solutions. In Part 3 Taylor joins me to discuss Episode 2 of Netflix' Keep Sweet, Pray and Obey. Trigger warning: sexual violence
