After going through the Liturgy of the Hours Prayers relating to specific times of the day, the Crone and Sage now turn their attention to what we call Occasions prayers, those small moments that can happen throughout our day or sometimes which we can use when we have the time to focus on being Witchy for just a moment or two. The first three are When Crossing a Threshold, Before Eating, and Before Drinking. Hope you enjoy trying these as part of your personal Liturgy practice.

Due to the Sage being under the weather, the Crone is sharing some brief thoughts about the upcoming Summer Solstice and a Liturgy reading of a Ceremonial Piece about the Solstice. The two of them plan to continue on with their Challenges segment next week and return with a regular episode the week after. Happy Summer Solstice from the two of us!

Congratulations! If you have been trying out the Liturgy of the Hours, you now have 7 times during the day where you can pause briefly, reset if you need to, and take a few moments to practice your spirituality throughout the day. Going forward, the Crone & Sage will be discussing pieces of the Liturgy that you can use for Occasions in your life that don’t have a specific time of day attached to them. However, in this episode we are offering a prayer that fits both types, specific and occasional, so it’s kind of a bridge between the two. It’s a prayer for when you awaken in the Middle of the Night and can’t easily get back to sleep. It focus on the fact that the world around you is fine, that you don’t have to lie there worrying about tomorrow, and that you can and deserve to return to your rest. Enjoy! And the Crone & Sage both hope you don’t have to use this prayer very often.

The Crone & Sage start talking about their Beltane Activities dealing with the Foundations of their spiritual practices and Summer Solstice is looming sooner than one thinks. The Moon is a Waxing Crescent moving from Cancer to Leo and it’s a great time for magickal workings to increase or draw things to you. The Liturgy Reading shared by the Crone is a chant entitled As Above So Below which is great for raising energy for ritual and magick. Our Ritualization of the Everyday discussion turned into reminders of how much we ritualize the mundane as well as the magickal as human beings. Finally, the Sage finishes off with our usual Witchstones Reading.

As part of the Liturgy of the Hours, we have reached the time of day when we are going to bed, not getting ready for the next day, watching the nightly news, or whatever we have been doing as part of our nightly routine. This is a deliberate moment where we turn everything off and prepare to get into bed to get a good night’s sleep. This prayer is deliberately designed to help with that process.

The Crone and Sage begin by talking about the seasonal changes in Solar Energy we are experiencing where the desire to get up and be out and about and doing is growing stronger. They also discussed what they are doing to enhance their work with the Energy of Earth during the Beltane season. The Moon is beginning to wane but we are still full of the Green Moon’s energy when it was full a couple of days ago. There seems to be a window of just before and just after the 3 days of the Full Moon where the energy is still pulling at us. The Crone reads an Ode to Earth from our Liturgy of The Path A Book of Prayer for Witches to celebrate the start of the Times of Beltane and work on our foundations will soon begin in earnest. During our Ritualization of the Everyday segment, the Sage brought up the importance of finding mirth in humanity and learning to laugh at ourselves, not making fun of individuals, but humanity as a species and some of our choices. Finally, the Sage close this episode with another wonderful Witchstone Reading;

It’s early evening and the mundane part of our day is finished. Now is a great time to take a few moments to acknowledge what is spiritually important to you. You are secure in the knowledge that you are Witch and part of the magick of creation.

The Crone and Sage have begun celebrating their trio of Rituals (Ingress, Congress, & Egress) as we enter the Times of Beltane where we will work to deepen our connections with the Element of Earth and take a look at the foundations of our spiritual practices. The Moon is Waxing in Gemini tonight and is heading for the First Quarter. For our Liturgy Reading, the Crone shares a Ceremonial Piece for Beltane from our Liturgy of The Path Book A Book of Prayer for Witches. In the Ritualization of the Everyday, the two of them talk about what they are doing now especially expanding upon the Liturgy of the Hours. Finally, our Sage completes a Witchstones Reading about what we need to be aware of over the next few days energetically for Body, Mind, and Spirit.

The Crone & Sage continue to share the Liturgy of the Hours Challenge by adding the next prayer for Midafternoon (number 5). This is the time of day when our thoughts begin to shift from the external or mundane things we need to finish up before we move on to being at home, contemplating plans for dinner or the evening ahead. It is another chance to reset and recognize that we can finish up what we NEED to get done rather than putting more pressure on ourselves as we manage the mundane to try to get through everything we Think we need to finish up.

The Crone and Sage start out by talking about how the rapidly increasing Light Energy is caling to both of us, but being somewhat older, the spirit is willing but the body takes a while longer during this season to catch up. They then finish up the discussion about the Candlemas Times of Creativity and Inspiration prompts because the Dark Moon at the end of the month will be when we celebrate the ritual of Ingress for Beltane, the start of yet another Cross Quarter Times. The Moon is waning and is in Sagittarius as we record and a Waning Moon is a great time to let go of things we may not need any longer or are holding on to still in our lives as we have grown and changed over the last months, years, decades, etc. The Liturgy reading is a Praise Poem to The Divine. Both of us have been focusing on the Liturgy Challenge of the Hours additions to our day as part of the Ritualization of the Everyday. Finally, as always, the Sage gives a Witchstone reading about what energies we may need to be aware of for the next few days for Body, Mind, and Spirit, our Sacred Three.
