• What are the rewards of obedience? Development, legacy, deposits into others; God will trust you with more!

è Sometimes we have to go through Gethsemane to get to Resurrection!

Review: Prayer isn’t .... Prayer Is .... Intimate connection; partnership Seeking Guidance; listening prayer; Review; Psalm 37:5; Proverbs 3:5, 6 Revelation .... Clear word, direction from God Word; impressions (Acts 15:25, 28 seemed good to us and to the Holy Spirit); counsel, guidance; over-ruled (Acts 16:6, 7); connection, witness in our spirit; peace of Christ (Colossians 3:15); sovereign circumstances (1 Thessalonians 2:18; Romans 8:28) ★Since prayer is living, intimate conversation and connection with your Father who perfectly loves you, don’t miss His casual conversation!!(Remember: believers have the mind of Christ indwelling us. Plus, the Lord gave us the Holy Spirit to teach us, guide us, convict us, enable us to hear His voice. 1 Corinthians 2:16; John 13 – John 16.)Your Circumstances are "door openers" (opportunities) for prayer. [Can react chaotically or volitionally] (God is not the originator of all circumstances! He is the overcomer!)Can prompt us to pray for wisdom; guidance; peace; gentleness; self-control; resolution; resistance *; intervention; etc. (*With the devil, issue commands only when necessary, never conversations!) Someone legitimately and continually on your mind can be a prompting to pray for them!

Seeking Guidance and Listening Prayer .... Psalm 32:8 Invite Him In "I invite YOU into ...." (be specific) Start small, keep it simple and real. Seek and Submit: Wisdom .... (Top down view) James 1:5, 6 Ephesians 1:15-17; Colossians 1:9-13 Revelation .... Clear word, direction from God Word; impressions (Acts 15:25 , 28 seemed good to us and to the Holy Spirit); counsel, guidance; over-ruled (Acts 16:6,7); connection, witness in our spirit; peace of Christ (Colossians 3:15); sovereign circumstances (1 Thessalonians 2:18) Practical Coaching: Avoid "lock down" (stress, extreme pressure) when possible. Commit the issue and final outcome to the Lord) Fight committing it to the Lord and then pressing to figure it out. (Proverbs 3:5,6)

• Need Revelation: His Love, intimate involvement in our lives; His authority

• Not True: devil knows everything; demons are omnipresent; “demon inspectors”

• The heart of the matter: shepherding; watching over another (feeding, leading, encouraging, protecting)

• Examples: Old Testament priests and prophets were often consulted, even by kings in difficult life situations; Jesus (John 17); Paul repeatedly in his letters to churches and pastors; John in John 3:2

• Revelation; protection; deeper personal knowledge of Him; health; prosperity; well-being; spiritual transfer of gifting and power.

è Review: Define Prayer: Prayer is intimate conversation between a loving Heavenly Father and His son/daughter …. NOT nice little packages of formal, non-offensive, polished words. Beware of Orphan Mentality.

(See Psalm 77; Psalm 13; Psalm 9; Psalm 22) These are cries of the heart.

è God initiated prayer and decided it would be essential to connecting with HIS heart! His intentions and His ways. (2 Chronicles 7:15, 16; Mark 11:16; 1 Corinthians 6:19)

è Partnership: God decided that prayer would be the vehicle He would use to affect change!

• Prayer has the capacity to change: the pray-er; (See David, Elijah) His people; world leadership; national circumstances, crises; health; lack; need for wisdom; protection.

• Prayer affects our personal circumstances and provides a partnering vehicle for supernatural deliverance …. 2 Corinthians 1:11; Philippians 1:19; James 5:13-16
