In this weeks episode, we discuss our experience playing team sports throughout our lives. We share the benefits that we reaped, including the skills and values that shaped us into the women that we are today. We touch base on the misconception of needing protein mainly from meat products, and our new sources of plant-based protein. This episode is not to preach the plant-based diet, but to share our journey and experiences with our transition, and how we overcame the challenges we faced throughout.

She discusses western medicine and energy healing, and how both forms impacted her life in their own unique ways. We wanted to give exposure to alternative healing, as it is not as mainstream as western medicine and many may not be aware that there are other effective forms of medicine/treatments. If any of you are living with chronic pain, or have exhausted all forms of treatments and nothing seems to work, feel free to connect with us on instagram at @shadesofblack.podcast or via email at [email protected] and we will gladly share our experiences with alternative healing and some of our resources.

We wanted to have an open and honest discussion about all the injustice that black individuals are experiencing globally, and we were lucky to have Rob on to get his perspective through his experiences. It is time to speak out against all the uncomfortable topics that we have been avoiding and take action. The time is now.
