With authority over both manned and unmanned aerial systems, which include NASA’s fleet of Airbus EC135 helicopters, and transient visitor aircraft, Shannon is the linchpin ensuring seamless operations. 

Shannon has the opportunity to fly the Airbus EC135 to support NASA missions around the clock. He plays a pivotal role in planning, integrating, and leading critical air operations during key moments in Orion Crew Module descent, landing, and recovery operations. Shannon’s leadership stands at the forefront of driving excellence in aviation within the KSC organization.
