Peter’s Gospel Preaching - Solomon’s Portico 12th in a series from the Book of Acts recorded in assisted living center near Auburn, California. Acts 3:13-26. Last time we looked at the lame man being healed which was a great segway into Peter’s Gospel preaching. As we look at Peter’s second recorded sermon after Pentecost we see the same key ingredients to any Gospel presentation.

They are as follows: Explanation of who Jesus is (verses 13 & 14) Death & Resurrection (verse 15) Faith (verse 16) Bible Prophecy (verse 18) Repentance - Conversion - Forgiveness of sins (verse 19) Christ’s second coming (verses 20 & 21) The rest of the passage (verses 22-26) is basically an exhortation intertwined with repeated facts that includes; More prophecy, Warnings, Blessings, and God’s sovereignty in salvation.

Lame Man Healed11th in a series from the Book of Acts recorded in assisted living center near Auburn, California. Acts 3:1-12 After looking back in review of our last study in Acts chapter 2, we examined the miraculous healing of the man lame from birth. Early on in the history of the church Peter & John working together continued to live the temple life. On their way to prayer the Lord uses Peter to heal this man at the beautiful gate. How would we react if God where to use us in such a way? We see the proper response by the Apostle Peter in our text this week.

They Continued Steadfastly…10th in a series from the Book of Acts recorded in assisted living center near Auburn, California. Acts 2:42-47. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. Discipleship and the lifestyle of new believers is the subject in this last portion of chapter 2. We briefly review last time and then go through each portion applying it to us today. The fear of the Lord, and the Lord adding to the church among some of the other discussion.

Repentance - Faith - Conversions 9th in a series from the Book of Acts recorded in assisted living center near Auburn, California. Acts 2:37-41. First I explained the interruption of the 7th Day Adventist during the study and spend a few minutes talking about that before getting into the text. Then I went through the prior week’s highlights. Talked about each of the major points of the crowd’s response; repentance, baptism, forgiveness of sins, and the gift of the Holy Spirit. 3,000 souls were saved and the Church began.

Peter’s Pentecost Sermon Pt 2 8th in a series from the Book of Acts recorded in assisted living center near Auburn, California. Acts 2:25-36. We first took time to review last week. Peter’s discourse continues as he goes right back again to the OT to Psalm 16 explaining that David was talking of the Christ. He seems to focus on the Lordship (Psalm 110:1) and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It seems Peter was relying on God through the Holy Spirit to convict of sin although he seems to accuse the nation of the murder of Jesus condemning Him. We finished our time up by looking ahead.

I point out some of the non-biblical practices we see in many of the churches today when it comes to money and giving. Where does it come from?

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source. Lorem Ipsum comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) by Cicero, written in 45 BC. This book is a treatise on the theory of ethics, very popular during the Renaissance. The first line of Lorem Ipsum, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet..", comes from a line in section 1.10.32.

Peter’s Pentecost Sermon Pt 17th in a series from the Book of Acts recorded in assisted living center near Auburn, California. Acts 2:16-24. As per custom we reviewed the previous week. Looked at Joel chapter 2 where Peter quotes from and discussed the last days. We took time to examine the near and future, or double, fulfillment of prophecies. After that we looked closely at Peter’s mention of Jesus of Nazareth, focusing on the term, “foreknowledge”. And of course the last verse we had time for this time and the importance of the resurrection of Christ, and the mentioning of that fact in any Gospel presentation.

Crowds Hear in Own Language About God6th in a series from the Book of Acts recorded in assisted living center near Auburn, California. Acts 2:5-15. Reviewing the week before and the Spirit’s coming. The crowds that came for Pentecost hear in their own language “The Wonderful Works of God”. At least 16 geographical areas represented by both Jews and Jewish proselytes (converts). Most were amazed and perplexed wondering what it meant while others mocking said they were drunk. We also talked a bit more on the gift of tongues; it being a known language somewhere it the world using selected Scriptures from 1 Cor chapters 12-14.
