Shit Talk Reviews

We were stoked to sit down for a conversation with Boston singer and bass player Keith Bennett. A true veteran in the Boston scene, Keith has been crushing it with bands like Wrecking Crew, PanzerBastard, Casket Rats and now Death Ray Vision. We talk the Boston scene history, the passion of music fans and why Goth clubs are some of the greatest places on the planet.

Any hockey fans in the house? If things go well, Keith will have to carve more time out of his already busy schedule when he and our very own David J get called up to the NHL. (Make no mistake, it's gonna happen...)

Be sure to check our Instagram profile for links to all our podcast reviews (including our review of Death Ray Vision's latest album No Mercy From Electric Eyes) and everything Sh!t Talk.

Drop us a line! What bands do you want us to review? Who should we interview next?

This week the topic at hand is the latest release from Spirit Adrift: Ghost At The Gallows.  Surely you're asking yourself what went down in the STR studio, and we're here to satiate your need for the hottest info. We dive headfirst into Nate Garrett's killer album, suffer through David's general frustration and anger, get reminded that of all things that Derek is 100% not an idiot and when it comes to Spirit Countries, John is a solid Switzerland. What spirit country are you?

Take a stroll and swing by our Instagram profile and kill a few hours with us. You'll find bios of the three yahoos who host this shindig, links to all of our reviews and podcasts and we may even have some tasty gear and giveaways!

We had the great pleasure of sitting down with phenomenal bassist, producer, socialite, great father and all-around nice guy Eric J. Morgan for some rambling conversations. We chat about his musical history from his work with First Order up through A Pale Horse Named Death and Patriarchs In Black. We also touch on the intricacies of cultivating a healthy garden, the benefits of social media and phallic studio equipment.

Check our Sh!t Talk Reviews Instagram profile for all of our podcasts, the latest David J abuse and grab some stickers to join the #STRdefaced movement!

Once again we find ourselves in different parts of the country this week as we talk about the new Currents album The Death We Seek. We chat about climbing out of a tough week as David lets his private "bead" collection out into the wild, Derek fishes for more sponsorship dollars and John tries desperately to just keep it together.

Check out our Instagram profile and join us for more nonsense in the Trust Tree while we talk new albums and abuse one another.

It's Death Ray Vision Day in the Sh!t Talk Studio! In this episode we get into DRV's new album No Mercy From Electric Eyes, discuss David J naked on a deserted island and speak quite highly of Boston's high-class mosh pit etiquette.
Many thanks for all the #STRDefaced pics you've sent us. If you need a stash for your stickering needs, hit us up at our Instagram!

You're stuck on a deserted island. Forever. You've got next to nothing with you except (obviously) a few albums and the means to play them.
We jump in for a quick conversation about a few of the albums that we'd definitely want with us. No surprise to any of us, David wants the quintessential Barry Manilow collection. Derek throws a curveball and goes with a Bette Midler retrospective and John keeps it super classy with the Muppets Greatest Hits.

Which albums would be on your list?

Queens Of The Stone Age dropped a new album and we just had to get into it. It’s a spicy bit of conversation and the guns were blazing. David J’s forehead has a target on it, Derek inadvertently launches an idea for a White Stripes reggae band and John still can’t read.

Check our IG and LinkTree for this and all our other reviews and do some defacing with some Sh!t Talk stickers!

Once again, David J has flown the coop, so we're relegated to Zoom to dig into this week's album review.
Finland's own OneFromTheNorth steps up with his third album, and he brings the madness with a fusion of metal and electronic. We also learn that John can't read, Derek loves domestic beer and David can live (at least) one more week with a reduced level of fear.

Things fall apart pretty quickly with this episode. (Then they get better, then all hell breaks loose.) Throughout all of it though, we get to talk about the latest release from King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard: PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation.
David J  looks past his advanced age and laces up his skates again, Derek contemplates a sexual assault at the hands (paws? claws?) of motion-picture-based-beasts of various sizes and John instigates and tries to keep his head down and avoid the beating stick shrapnel.

What are your thoughts on this latest KGATLW album? Do you prefer the band's heavier or lighter work?

In today's deep dive we get into Avenged Sevenfold's latest album Life Is But A Dream. In a strange turn of events this week, the shit talking is not directed at David. (So you can all rest well, know that we've set up some counseling to help him get through these unprecedented times...) We also muse about why Country Time Lemonade still hasn't come through with the big sponsorship dollars.

Many thanks to those who continue to support us in all of our childish endeavors!
