Aidan Heap runs 90’s Kid’s Closet, a New Orleans-based vintage store inspired by the era of Nintendo 64 and Surge soda. Within the span of a few years, he went from selling clothes on Snapchat out of a spare bedroom to creating a 90’s paradise that caters to everyone from the new-in-town Tulane freshman to some of the nation’s biggest professional athletes. The Sneaker Politics x ASICS GEL-LYTE III ‘Always Ready’ collaboration is inspired by the U.S. Army and lives as a thank you to all service members. In 1999, Sneaker Politics founder, Derek Curry joined the U.S. Army and was deployed in 2003, where he spent nine months in Iraq. He credits much of his professional success to the lessons and values he learned while serving in the military. The core design philosophy for this project stems from his unit's motto, "Toujours Prêt"—meaning, "Always Ready."

In this episode, we provide an in-depth review of this upcoming collaboration and cover everything from how we found out about the release, how the sneakers look in-hand, our favorite details, when the release dates are, and our thoughts on the accompanying apparel/accessory collection.
