How the hell has it been three years since we sent that dumb text and started recording ourselves talking about shoes? Somehow, we're still here doing it. In this episode, we reminisce on the past season of the show and talk about some of our favorite moments.

Alfred Banks is possibly New Orleans’s best kept secret. Though he’s toured the US and Europe several times over, he’s often described as “overlooked” or “underrated.” Instead of letting that hinder his growth, Alfred uses that as motivation to continue honing his already seasoned craft and curates his online presence under the moniker “Underdog Central.” In our interview, Alfred talks about growing up in New Orleans, how his music has taken him across the globe, and why he prefers to wear heat over hype. You can find Alfred on Instagram @underdogcentral.

We know, we know, it's been a while. But your favorite boys are finally back to serve you a Route 44 sized glass of the freshest tea: the controversy behind Union's release of their Jordan 2 collaboration. Once your thirst has been quenched, we're gonna blindside you with a philosophical discussion behind the differences between buying fake sneakers and making knockoff versions of real sneakers through Nike ID.

The fine folks over at Dizygotic heard our last episode and were kind enough to send a couple of pairs of their shoes over for us to check out. In this episode, we talk about the unboxing experience, if the sneakers measure up in hand compared to online, and what the on foot comfort is like. Check them out at dizygotic.com.

In recent years, it’s felt like we’ve strayed further and further away from the spirit of the original Air Max Day in 2014. Gone are the days of voting for retros of your favorite grails or seeing a group of indie designers pitch their ideas for a new release. Instead, we’ve been left with lackluster concept packs and forgettable new silhouettes. Is this year any different? Find out in this episode, where we discuss our favorite shoes from past Air Max Days and what we think of this year’s lineup.

Dizygotic is a new sneaker brand based out of Tucson, Arizona with a unique take on what a pair of sneakers should look like in relation to each other. Their design philosophy is based around dizygotic twins, also called "fraternal" or "nonidentical" twins, and all of their sneakers feature asymmetrical color blocking between the left shoe and the right shoe. In this episode, we talk about their first release: Project Alpha. We review the two different colorways available, the details in the packaging, and what we think about the brand's design philosophy as a whole. You can find more info on Dizygotic on their website at www.dizygotic.com.

Let's be honest: there's been way too many sneaker accounts posting the latest releases with some caption like "sNeAkEr Of ThE yEaR???" and it's only February. Instead, we decided to sit down and talk about the unknown and what we're looking to come of it. What does 2022 look like for Nike without Virgil Abloh? Is this the year we can expect to start seeing product from the Adidas and Fear of God partnership? Plus, we talk about the direction the podcast is taking as we enter our fourth season.

Devin Chriss is an in-house designer, stylist, and photographer for Rukus Skateshop. At surface level, you might think skateboarding is at the core of it - but in each of his stories, you’ll find there’s another common theme: persistence and creativity in spite of scarce resources. In this episode, Devin talks about how he got his foot in the door with Rukus, navigating the best way to release Nike’s most popular silhouette in the midst of a pandemic, and producing product photography that conveys a story in one single frame. As the year finally comes to an end, it’s time for us to do the ultimate retrospective and look back on all of the notable sneaker releases. Instead of doing a singular “Top 10” list, we broke this out into a few different categories to declare the best and worst sneakers of 2021. In this episode, the three sub-categories we cover are: best retro, favorite shoe you got this year, and worst sneaker/ biggest disappointment. After that, we each declared our top three sneakers of the year.

Instead of doing a singular “Top 10” list, we broke this out into a few different categories to declare the best and worst sneakers of 2021.
