Canadian transgender advocates are urging Ottawa to offer a safe haven for gender-diverse individuals from the U.S. after President Donald Trump signed an executive order recognizing only two sexes—male and female—effectively rolling back gender identity protections from the Biden era.

The order impacts areas such as the military, public facilities, prisons, schools, and official documents, including passports.
