Today's topic is covid's effect on the restaurant industry and the difference in Japanese and Canadian food culture. I realized some interesting differences between Japanese and Canadian food when I was talking about how covid affected the food industry here in Canada the other day.

今回のエピソードでは今年の振り返りとしてコロナによって変わった事、コロナワクチンの安全性についてお話ししていこうと思います。今年は多くの皆様にとって苦しい年となったと思います。仕事や家族または自分自身にも多くの影響があり、今までにない柔軟な対応を強いられた事と思います。

そんな今年最後のエピソードです。今年の1月4日から初めて早1年が経ちました。三日坊主で中々何も続ける事ができなかった私がまさか一年もこのポッドキャストを続ける事ができるだなんて本当に思いませんでした。これも本当に聞いてくださっている皆様のおかげです。本当にありがとうございました。来年からも皆様の有意義になる様なトピックを発信していこうと思いますのでどうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

Hi everyone, Today's episode is the reflection of this year. I must say this year was one of the most ambitious years for everyone. Many of us had to adjust to this crazy new norm to protect each other. As there are sad incidents, but I think a majority of us did a great job following the rules. As the vaccine is here, we can see the end of this crazy journey. So let's keep our chin up and lets end this horrible time together as a whole.

When I first came to Canada and spent Christmas and new year for the first time, I was very shocked at how different it was, compared to Japan. Japanese New yeas are just like Canadian Christmas. It is interesting to see how differently Christmas is celebrated in Japan and Canada.

 大学が就職予備校になっている。というのはみなさま聞いた事があるとおもいます。今回は日本の大学が就職予備校と呼ばれるわけとカナダの大学の違いについて話して見ました。 

Do you know the majority of university graduates in Japan literally walk into jobs after graduation? or at least they try to. Their full-time job hunting literally starts when they enter 3rd year of university. It is due to a culture of shinsotsu ikkatcu saiyou. It is the tradition where a company hires a group of new grads every year just like school. They start from the bottom and move up within the compnay.

婚前契約書は絶対に北米でするなら作る事を考えた方がいいと思います。じゃないと不倫されたのにサポート費用とか財産分与でお金を不倫した方に払わないといけなくなります。カナダと日本の法律はかなり違うので日本の感覚で結婚すると痛い目を見てしまう可能性も大いにあります。結婚は一生でも何回もしない（できれば一回であって欲しいですが）事だと思いますし、人生を左右する決断なのでなるべき守りは固めておきましょう。あなたの身を守れるのはあなた自身だけです。

Did you know there is a thing called Isharyo in Japan where you have to pay when you get a divorce because you cheated on your partner. I know there is no such thing in Canada and that interested me a lot. If you don't have a prenup written, you are pretty much doomed. So in this episode, I am talking about the different laws and cultures about marriage between Japan and Canada.

みなさんこんにちは今晩わおはようございます！日本でも最近ブラックフライデーセールがきているみたいですが私は日本の福袋が好きです❤️あの何が入っているかわからないドキドキ感が大好きです笑カナダにもブラックフライデーセールはあるんですけどアメリカほど激しくない印象ですね。それでも電化製品とかは結構いい値段になるのでちゃんと見た方がお得かもしれないです。

It seems like Canadian Black Friday is pretty chill compared to America.. lol I hope everyone stays safe and happy safe shopping! lol I am talking about the origin of Black Friday and its history in Canada. Also, how to get something you want on a black Friday price without lining up on the day of. BTW I purchase a Nintendo switch! I am soooo happy. I am not a gamer but I absolutely love it. 今回はカナダのパーティー文化についてです！日本語のパーティーってなんかフォーマルな気がしません？でも実は日本の宅飲みと同じノリだったり😂いつかは私のプロム（高校卒業パーティー）についての回も作ろうと思います😇本当にいろいろあったので笑。

When you say "Party" it sounds very VERY formal in Japan. I am explaining what a party really means in Japanese. I absolutely love the party culture in Canada. We do not have any "parties" in Japanese high schools but we have festivals. It is interesting to see how different they are :)

みなさんこんにちは今晩はおはようございます。いかがお過ごしでしょうか？今回はカナダの終戦記念日リメンバランスデーについてです。やはり戦争は今の平和な世の中をありがたく思いながらも絶対に忘れてはいけない歴史ですよね。私の暑苦しい思いを語ってみました。日本も終戦記念日シンボルを作ればいいのになって思います。カナダのリメンバランスでーのシンボルはポピーと呼ばわれるケシの花です。胸に付けるんですけど可愛いですよ。

Today's episode is all about Remembrance Day. I am explaining what is a remembrance day and what Canadians do. We do have a similar day in Japan but it is on August 15th and we have no symbol as Canada does. We shall never forget the lives that have been lost and the people who fought to let us in this somewhat peaceful world.

Yes, I did the covid test! lol I did not think I would ever get tested but I had to as I still do go to my office for work. It was honestly not as bad as I thought. I am sharing a detailed experience with you all. Please tune in!
