The difference between Japanese and Canadian universities. Although I have never been to a Japanese university, I have compiled some info from my brother and friends in Japan. The system is so different and I feel I am glad that chose Canadian University.

The riot happening in Sates is not something we can ignore. Racism is something we all have to face in this globalization era.

If you live around Vancouver you will know this topic well. I am talking about the real estate market here in Vancouver. The price is ridiculous. You can't even buy a house with $1M in Vancouver.

If you are multilingual, then you will know what I mean when I say a language can get rusty when you don't use it. I speak 3 languages, Japanese, English, and Shanghainese. I think Japanese is the hardest one out of all. so if you do speak Japanese at any level, you should be proud of yourself.

I miss my Japanese shotengai aka shopping street. Here I am talking about what they are and why we don't have shotengai culture in North America. If you have been to Japan, you will know what I am talking about.

I am talking about a Japanese Youtuber Chika, who is a full Japanese but grew up in America. It is interesting to observe how the environment can shape someone's culture directly. She is super American inside although she was brought up by a full Japanese parent.

stay safe!
It is very interesting to see the cultural difference in this kind of pandemic era. In Asia, we have a big mask culture, we wear it to prevent giving others sick, from allergy, and even for fashion. So it is very common to wear a mask long before this pandemic hits. I was shocked to see how wearing a mask was not a thing when I came to Canada. There were times where I wanted to wear a mask because I was not feeling well and wanting to prevent giving my sickness to others. But I always end up not wearing one because people would look at you weird. So I am kind of glad that this pandemic educated people on why people wear a mask and what it does.
