Sight Attendant

We put on our super suits this week and jumped into Kick Ass. What the hell was our problem not seeing this when it came out? This was actually reasonably easy to follow without audio description. We also covered some Stephen King that Jordan has been reading and an Atrocity Guide video about Phoenix Jones,  a real life super hero.

This show is not written but definitely produced by Ashley, Jordan, and Tony. With love from the pugs and Frisco. And maybe a cat or two.

Join us for an evening of magic with everyone's favorite sorcerer Nicolas Cage! In some of the strangest audio description yet we found some minor enjoyment. Join us as we delve into the secretive world of magic with The Sorcerer's Apprentice. We also found out that we would have a new president in the middle of this episode so there may be a bit of a mood shift in the second half of this episode.

This week we've got statues of liberty, we've got desks, we've got Big Bens, and some books that hold secrets.  The kids are back with some intense election coverage featuring everyone's dream president, Nicolas Cage. It's National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets and boy was it a wild and highly familiar ride.  Jordan gives us a list of animals he doesn't like and Ashley forgets the language spoken in Paris. Get ready.

We also wrapped up spOoOoOky season with a lantern tour of a nearby cemetery and a weird blind comment from the tour guide.

8mm is the film this week starring your main man Nic Cage. There was no avoiding a penis joke. Trigger warning for extreme violence, self harm, extreme sexual violence. A little tough to keep things on the lighter side with a film about a snuff film but somehow we do it. Private investigator Nic(Tom) must find the origins of this murder film and Jordan and Ashley must talk about it. Also Joaquin  Phoenix has blue hair and has the connection to underground, "weird" sex stuff. We also hit on a killer announcement about audio description and HBO max. Other topics include older disabled folx who don't like progress.

Hey there! Back at it again with the absolute madness of the film Mom and Dad starring our favorite boy Nic Cage! This one was extremely difficult to watch and extremely difficult for Ashley to describe. This boi was heavy on the violence, particularly toward children. We also chat about some covid silver linings for folks with disabilities, and White Cane Safety Day. And how could we get through an episode without a politician trying to relate to the children or a long list of Lacroix / seltzer water brands. Enjoy and don't try to kill your kids...

Coming at you with some bees this week. The much discussed the remake of the 1973 Wicker Man. Not as hot as some of the other films we have watched, but also not as horrid as the other films we have watched either.  We touch on its similarities to Midsommmar and we get another blind character! Well blind twins actually. We also chat about people first language being important and searching homes without a warrant. For Meet the Blind Month, there's some discussion on Braille Harry Potter and many blind resources. If you're interested in finding out more information about your local and beyond resources, check out the links below. Do you happen to have a child with Jordan? Hit him up and let him know.

We did it! In this milestone episode we join Nic Cage in looking to the future in what was a mildly confusing action film called Next. More action means more difficult to understand without that sweet audio description. We also touch on the classic MTV dating shows Next and Room Raiders. We discuss the strange ways blind people are treated, and Jordan's experience dreaming while blind. We get some tears for episode 10. Let us know if you get emotional along with us. In happier news, stickers have arrived! Reach out if you would like a few one or ten.

Welcome to the second episode of Unattended in which your hosts talk about whatever they want. It also happens to be the first episode of October which is Meet The Blind Month! This episode finds them discussing the NFL and how commentating in sports is basically audio description. We are also talking beers and the Untappd app.

It’s here! We finally experienced the cinematic masterpiece that is G-Force. In what turned out to be much more difficult to get through than we could have imagined, we were able to find a couple of alright moments. The brightest side ended up being that the movie had audio description at all. We also talk about Dance Dance Revolution, selling antiques, and the trouble in audio describing fantasy settings. Don’t forget to check out our friends over at the Wait to Panic podcast and the Quite Unusual Podcast. Keep an eye out for those sweet Sight Attendant stickers, coming at you soon.

Listen along as we run through our most action packed film yet, Face/Off turned out to be even crazier than Ashley could have imagined. Unfortunately this is another one that fell short by not having audio description. Given the main plot point Jordan had a surprisingly alright time.

We also hit on some weird serial killer stuff from Ashley's home state of Wisconsin and shoutout the Chilled and Thrilled podcast. We announce our debut on Amazon Podcasts and the impending arrival of Sight Attendant vinyl stickers! We also discuss Crip Camp, a Netflix original film about a summer camp in the 70s for disabled young folks. We have since discovered that Netflix is hosting the full film on their Youtube channel, so anyone can watch it without a Netflix subscription.

Make sure to do the rate and review thing along with that share with your friends thing. Love you bye.
