  • Episode 4 | Should I Climb Out of the Valley of Grief?
When we lose a child we quickly fall into the valley of grief. But the question is, should we quickly climb our way out of the valley? Nobody wants to stay in a perpetual state of grief. So what is the answer? Do we get counseling and try to reduce the weight of grief as quickly as possible? Do we endure the grief for a season?

Find out in this episode. We talk about doing what is right for YOU. In the end, nobody can tell you what the timeline should be for grieving the loss of your child.

  • Episode 3 | The Loneliness of "the Valley"
When we lose a child, we almost immediately find ourselves falling into what we call the valley of despair. Suddenly light goes dark, a thick fog settles in, and monstrous mountains seem to dominate us, making us feel like we will never be able to ascend to their tops. It's difficult to navagate life when we are in the valley because everything is new and there are lots of unknowns.

In this episode we discuss what it is like to enter into the valley and what we can expect. It's certainly something that we all experience, so knowing a little bit more about it will help us to understand what we are experiencing.

  • Episode 2 | We Need People To Surround Us When Tragedy Strikes
The day after my son died was a blur. The whole family showed up and as we were making funeral plans kids were outside playing. It was two contrasting moods. As our world stopped, life still had to move forward. Mouths had to be fed and we had to process what had just happened together. Fortunately, we found a strong support system within our family that got us through that day. And the following days.

Grief hits hard and we really need people to hold our hands through the process. Without that support system the harshness of death is magnified. In this episode we share the importance of being present with grieving people.
