Luke 18: 18-23Most of us have heard the story of the rich young ruler. I want to briefly discuss a common misconception with this passage and also break down why the rich sometimes struggle with Christianity.

1 Corinthians 9: 24-25How many of us like running? I know for a fact most people don't like to run, but in some races we don't have a choice. I'm of course referring to our spiritual race Paul talks about in the above mentioned passage. How do we feel we are doing in that particular race?

1 Timothy 5: 1-2We have all been rebuked before, and we will be rebuked again. How does it feel? Would you say we are proficient at rebuking people? I know I have a lot of work to do in this area personally. Thankfully, the Bible gives us passages like this one to provide some guidance on this very necessary aspect of human interaction and Christian living.

James 5: 16Who do you confess your sins to? I'm willing to bet your first answer is Jesus, and it should be. But is there another source you can confess your sins to? Not for heavenly forgiveness of course, but earthly comfort and support. James gives us a support network here for us to use when we struggle with sins and we will discuss that network today.

Matthew 14: 28-29Oh ye of little faith. We all can probably quote that passage and briefly give a summary of what happens. But have you ever considered just how strong Peter's faith must have been in this short story? Today we break down the strength of Peter's faith and discuss how we can apply that same strength to our Christian lives.

John 15:12Today's lesson comes from an unexpected source. If you've been watching the news the past few days you may have a guess as to what this unexpected source was for one of my daily prayers. If you haven't kept up with the national stories, then give today's episode a listen! A very prominent figure recently took a stand for unity and showing respect towards others regardless of personal outlooks or opinions. We can ALL practice this outlook more and it's even backed up in scripture. Ellen DeGeneres had to defend herself after committing the unholy sin of having a friendship with and sitting next to former President George Bush. Matthew 14 & 15How many times did Jesus feed a large crowd in the Bible? Twice that we have record of. I don't know about you but if I saw Jesus do it the first time, I would never be worried about food again when I was following him. Yet the second time Jesus needs to feed a large crowd the apostles question where they will get the food to support it... do we have that same memory today? How quickly do we forget what Jesus has done for us?

James 5: 19-20James is one of my favorite books to study. He covers a lot of relevant topics and I always enjoy discovering new applications based on what season I am going through. Today though, I read something I have read many times and never really noticed the weight contained within these verses. James includes a powerful message in his parting words to early Christians.

Philippians 1: 9-11This is a good question in my humble opinion. If your love for Christ is grounded in something weak or inappropriate, then it will surely fail you when you need it most. Paul speaks about grounding our love for Christ in this passage, and he answers the question in a straightforward way.

Luke 9: 25What are you spending your resources on, and it is a profitable investment? Today we discuss the greatest investment we can make and what dangers lie in the wake of a poor investment.
