  • Should A Child be Labeled as the Man/Woman of the House?

On today's show, Reggie is discussing how labeling your child as the man/woman of the house could have a negative effect on you and them as well.
In today's society, it has become a common practice for some single parents to identify their child as the man or woman of the house in the absence of a partner. As a parent, you have every right to set the roles of the individuals in your household. However are the roles being assigned to family members who fully understand the responsibilities of these roles?

For example, if your son has been told that he is the man of the house at the age of 10, how do you think he will interpret this information? Where do you think he will learn to fill this role? Will he watch other men on Television such as empire or maybe individuals he observes from the community? My point is this is a huge responsibility for a child to assume who has yet to experience the real world.

Listen to this episode of the Simply Straight Talk show for insight on this topic.

  • Big City and Big Dreams

Relocating to a new city, state or country is a big deal. On this episode of the Simply Straight Talk Podcast, Reggie is discussing the impacts that can have a negative or positive effect on your life.

It's common for people to relocate at some point in their life, in search of new experiences, opportunities, and change. That whole mindset about finding yourself? Relocating can help you establish a fresh start in life if it's done with some strategic planning.

I think you should also keep in mind that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Moving to a new place is a decision that requires extensive research rather than a rushed agenda, in which you truly consider the pros and cons of what you're giving up in exchange for what you'll be getting in your new life.

Don't base your decision on what you see from other peoples post on social media. Often people will post their best photos for others to view. For example, no one wants to admit they made a bad decision to their friends regarding their choice of place to relocate. I have seen people post photos of beautiful home settings but mislead viewers into thinking this the life they are living.

Before you pack up and decide to head out west in search of that dream job, fame, or being the next big movie star. Listen to the show and use the tips shared here to help you make a better decision.

  • Dealing with your past in your current relationship.

In today's episode of Simply Straight Talk, Reggie is discussing the challenges of dealing with issues from your past, while embracing relationship.

We have all made mistakes in our past that we would love to be able to erase from our history, but unfortunately, that's not always possible. I love how movies can create the most dramatic problems and they are all resolved in less than 2 hours.

Cinematic endings rarely translate over into reality. In the movies, someone will disclose a hurtful part of their past, someone cries, one person walks out and, within an hour or two, the world is perfect and all is well in television land. For those of us living in the real world, we know all too well that life does not follow a script. Irrespective of how much you rehearse the words or prepare the perfect setting, you cannot account for the other person’s reactions when you share something with them.

So what are some of the actual dilemmas from our past that may cause two people to skirmish within themselves about their past mistakes? Well, start the show to find out!

  • Are Men Not Defending Women Intentionally?

On this episode of Simply Straight Talk, Reggie will be discussing the overwhelming concern from some women regarding the lack of effort from men to protect them when needed.

Now, with women coming into their own, certain customary values that exist between men and women are quickly becoming obsolete. Honestly, I can’t tell you how many times I have overheard a woman declare that she can defend herself or doesn’t require a man to fight for her because she is not weak. This mentality seems to be a fast-growing among certain women. Now, we have many men who are more than content to simply mind their own business and intentionally avoid getting involved at all. For me, this is disconcerting, as we have the two genders, which together can create life, leaving each other to what could potentially be a harmful fate.

After listening to this podcast please share your thoughts on the commentary from this show. Do you feel men need to do more regarding defending women? Would you say, women, should provide more details regarding their thoughts on and definition of protection?

  • Make-Up Sex: Can It Make A Difference

On this episode of Simply Straight Talk, Reggie is discussing the impact of make-up sex in relationships.

For some people, make-up sex is one of the most thrilling parts of their relationship, and I can understand why. Under the right condition, make-up sex can be an exciting, healthy way to confirm your feelings with your partner. But what no one tells you about make-up sex is this: it rarely solves anything, and the cinematic representation of make-up sex may not yield the same results.

What is it about a verbal confrontation that stimulates a desire which causes two people to feel the need to become intimate during or after an argument? There is a variety of reasons this behavior may occur. In this episode, Reggie is sharing some helpful tips that will hopefully not only strengthen your relationship but also increase the longevity of being together. You can also check out our blog on this make-up sex discussion as well.

  • Challenges of Being A Leader

What’s most challenging about leading organizations today? Well, we are going to discuss this very question on today's episode of the Simply Straight Talk Show.

Leadership has its share of benefits and rewards. Managers/supervisors are usually in a better position to influence and lead change. In most organizations, being a leader means you are able to impact company goals and employee needs. Most importantly, there’s nothing like the satisfaction of helping an individual or team reach their goals and perform at their best.

However, there’s a price to pay for the status and those extra rewards and perks. Being a manager means you also have to deal with tough issues that can cause you to lose sleep. From disgruntled employees to unrealistic goals regarding new or current work projects. Managers/supervisors also have to be able to represent the voice of the company administrators while also serving as the voice of the employees. It goes without saying that sometimes that when a clash of views takes place the Managers/supervisors are caught in the middle of a tug of war that can become quite nasty.

  • Disowning Family Members

Unfortunately, some families reach a point of dysfunction which causes a family member to conclude that he/she can’t stay connected any longer to a specific person in the family or, in some cases, the entire family. People who break all ties from family are not always over the age of 18. Many children between the age of 12 and 17 have begun to abandon their families as well. Some youth are already packed their bags mentally and just waiting to reach the age of 18 which is considered to be adulthood and they are gone.

Estrangements from family members may be one of the most emotionally painful experiences anyone could experience. Does it go without saying that turning away from family is absolutely heartbreaking: Who, after all, would think to terminate a relationship with someone who raised you or you grew up with? Family separation can result from a variety of reasons. Such as finances, traumatic events, betrayal, lack of support, verbal or physical abuse and favoritism.

But there are ways to start the healing process and in this episode, Reggie is going to share his thoughts with you, right here on the Simply Straight Talk Show.

  • Why Some Men Have A Side Chick

On this episode of the Simply Straight Talk show, Reggie is hosting the conversation on "Why Some Men Have A Side Chick"? A side chick is female who is romantically involved with a man that she know has a girlfriend or wife. Now I know everyone is not going to feel the same about some of the opinions discussed in this show but could it be something within the conversation that could help you?

To understand the Side Chick, a person must first understand the mindset that makes a man want to have a woman on the side in the first place. Honestly, there can be no booty call, jump-off, or mistress, without a man that is open to having one. As a woman who only desires to be the “Main Chick” or wife, what can you do to avoid getting involved with a man who is capable of having a Side Chick?

Check out this episode to hear both sides of the conversation and share your thoughts on the side chicks in other people relationships. Now should we also consider the fact that some women have side dudes who play the same role as a side chick? Let's find out with your host Reggie.

  • Sometimes Life Sucks

Let’s face it—sometimes life just sucks! I don’t mean to be sarcastic; it’s just the reality of living in this world today. Every day, people are faced with financial challenges, hostile work environments, troubled relationships, medical issues, unsatisfying careers and so many other dilemmas. These obstacles can affect a person in a variety of ways. In some cases, people may experience anxiety, depression or worse, suicidal thoughts.

On the other hand, what if you just looked in the mirror and said to yourself, “life sucks”? Honestly, take this time to express how you’re really feeling to yourself. Take a moment to just empty out those feelings that you’ve been holding inside.

On this episode of Simply Straight Talk, Reggie is going to discuss some discuss some ways to deal with these feelings.

  • Desperate Times and Bad Decisions

On this episode of Simply Straight Talk, Reggie is talking about the decisions people make during hard times that lead to bad decisions. Reggie will be sharing his own personal experiences.

When people are facing problems that make them feel frantic, they have reached a point in their life where they feel hopeless. It becomes difficult to see things improving without making some kind of dramatic decision. Often times people mentally block out the thought of the possible consequences. It’s often a false sense of relief effort to delay facing the issues that need to be addressed, it seems insane.

And then there is the do-or-die factor. When a person's self-esteem has slowly fallen from low to nothing, hopelessness has begun to consume their emotions, and expectations of more bad news monopolize their thoughts at every turn. For this reason, people begin to disregard any rational thinking and make decisions that have a long-term negative impact on their life. In some cases, people lose their faith in God.
