  • Wrong Reasons To Get In A Relationship

Today on the Simply Straight Talk Show, Reggie Maddox is discussing bad reasons to enter into a relationship.

When you're deciding whether you're ready to get into a relationship, you must ensure that you are doing it with the best intentions. A key factor is determining how you're feeling about yourself. It's impossible to be in a healthy relationship when you're not in a good place or emotionally stable. People get into relationship for all sorts of reasons and often they are not with the best intentions.

In some cases, an individual may base their need to be in a relationship on their current circumstances. In other words, they feel the answer to their financial problems, living situation, loneliness, emotional state or social status may improve if they are actively engaged in a relationship. Relationships are never going to succeed if they developed based on one person looking for resolutions to their problems from someone else.

Entering relationships for the wrong reason can have a long-term effect on the person, who believed you were interested them for something serious. Matters of the heart are never easily forgotten.

So in this episode we are sharing the wrong reasons to get into a relationship, because being lonely just isn't good enough.

  • Stuck In Hustle Mode

On this episode of the Simply Straight Talk Show, your host Reggie Maddox is discussing what happens when you become stuck in hustle mode. Many people use the term hustle as away to describe their method getting more money or making things happen.

While Hustle Mode is a great way to make things happen regarding obtaining your goals, it's not a great way to live. If you're in Hustle Mode, your health, social life and possibly your  sanity are being placed under a lot of stress.

What's worse, Hustle Mode will only get you so far and if you don't know how to successfully plan and focus your hustles, you'll be stuck in the mindset of just getting by in life.

    No Focus

Hustle Mode is ideal (and sometimes necessary) for the anyone looking to start of a new venture. This normally requires a person to perform multiple task with hopes of obtaining a break-through at some point. However, you have to be aware that this kind of personal effort is not scalable. And in fact, if you stay stuck in the Hustle Mode mindset without determining what the end results are you're dooming yourself to failure.

    Your Stuck At A Redlight

Often, people will reach a point to where they feel stuck in life, while others seemly are progressing in life. Just imagine you are sitting at an intersection at a red light. Suddenly, you realize every light is changing to green but your lane. Truly, this will make feel discouraged and impatient. Your goals seem so far away at this point because you can't work longer or harder than you already do.

Listen to today's show for some tips on how to move past hustle mode and really start to see your dreams come to reality.

  • State of The Black Community

On this episode of the Simply Straight Talk Show, your host Reggie Maddox is discussing the "State of the Black Community". There are so many issues facing the black community in which quite a few have risen from our own actions. Today, he is bringing some of the issues to light as well as steps we can take to empower ourselves.

Black/African-Americans have always lived in a world in which they struggled to find acceptance. This was not only from other ethnic groups but also amongst our own people. We were once inspired by leaders within community who's voice echoed along with their presence in very neighborhoods of those that needed inspiration and support in obtaining justice. Those days have long past and the media/self-appointed leaders of today speak of justice but with a long-handled spoon are they reaching out to the Black/African American communities.

Here are some of the topics discussed in today's show.

    • The Black Agenda
    • Black Politicians
    • Stereotypes
    • Divided Race
    • Black Men and Women at war with each other.
    • Building Our Own

This show will hopefully create conversation and inspire a race of intelligent men and women to unite for the destruction of there groups but to empower ourselves and the generations to follow us.

  • Finding A Good Man or Woman

In this episode of the Simply Straight Talk Show, Reggie is reviewing the list from men and women on what it means to be a good man or good women.

What does it mean when a person says, “I want a good man” or “I want a good woman”? So many of us hope to find that special person we can connect with, physically and mentally. One of the most fulfilling aspects of life is sharing companionship with someone who not only celebrates your achievements with you but also comforts you in your shortcomings. Unfortunately, many of us have realized that finding the right mate comes with heartbreak, deceit and emotional stress.

The concept of determining a good man has become quite diluted over the years. Prior to the 1980s, a good man was someone who worked a full-time job, was a loyal husband/father and was respected in the community. The modern-day definition of a good man has evolved to accommodate more distinctive requirements. For instance, a full-time job must pay a substantial salary that helps maintain an automobile/home and covers 65–100% percent of all bills. We all understand that over the years, the cost of living has exploded. Moreover, women determine their own preferences for what they desire in a man.

What most men consider being a good woman has also become convoluted with misconceptions. Today, there seems to be a problem about women becoming more masculine and less feminine. Sometimes, men expect their women to earn equal pay or even more than their income. Previously, women were recognized for being a source of encouragement, a good mother/wife and, most of all, for standing beside her man; they understood the importance of the household being united, with a solid foundation.

  • Time for A Change

On this episode of the Simply Straight Talk Show, Reggie is discussing situations in life that stir a need for change. Many of us may feel stuck in our current circumstances. Yet, within our hearts and mind, we are determined to take control of our lives.

Recently I have experienced moments of frustration, I found myself constantly wondering why I was doing what I was doing because it just doesn’t seem to be getting me anywhere. My life feels like every aspect is based on being mediocre.

In today's society, standards have been lowered because everyone enjoys celebrating mediocre goals.

When people decide to change their life for the better, often they are told they are setting the bar too high. Some people will tell you that you are just experiencing a phase in life, it will pass.

Eventually, you may begin to believe this is true when you’re fighting to hold on to your standards and don’t seem to be getting anywhere. On social media,  people are bragging about what they’ve got going on and you start to wonder if something is wrong with you because you want more.

It's time to put away the doubt and move forward. Listen to today's show where Reggie is going to share his story with you.

  • The Struggle with Being Torn in Love

Welcome to the Simply Straight Talk Show. The struggle of being torn in love can have a dramatic effect on a person's life.  Today, Reggie will be discussing the question "Is it possible to truly love two people at once, or will you eventually abandon one for the other"? And if you are experiencing the feeling of love for two people, is someone being denied certain aspects of your love and affection?

We will be looking at this topic from various points of views such as a committed relationship and how and emotional attachment could develop into an affair.  And we will also confront several forms of communication which one person may perceive as an innocent conversation. On the other hand, is it really innocent if you begin to feel hurt or disappointed from this person who is not your mate/spouse when they don't contact you? These forms of communication may range from texting, email, video chat, or posting on social media platforms.

Understanding the conflicts of love is a challenge for anyone. But we have to ask ourselves one simple question "Are you creating challenges for yourself"? Part of our discussion today will cover the work wife and work husband labels that some people use for particular co-workers. Often time people don't realize that this mild version of role-playing can lead to some form of an emotional attachment.

So tune in to the show and join the conversation.

  • Relationships Are They Worth It

On this episode of the Simply Straight Talk Show, Reggie is discussing Relationships and break-ups.

When you're single and searching for that one special person, the thought of finding a healthy, loving relationship can seem disheartening. Some people prefer to date the old-fashioned way, while others may prefer the process of modern dating. The modern way of dating is built around technology. Online dating requires a person to make a dating profile that stands out, looking through your matches, and of course, actually going out on dates. It can take a lot of time and effort to find a fulfilling relationship. Honestly,  that might not be exactly what you want to hear, the good news is that dating, although challenging, can also be fun and rewarding, especially if you are practicing healthy and safe dating habits.

Everyone wants to find that one person to spend time with on special days. Someone to share their most special moments and intimate secrets. Life can be so fulfilling when you have someone to go home to, call/text to say I miss or expressing your feelings of love to each other.

Relationships can be magical but they can also become a dramatic nightmare. A successful relationship will consist of trust, compromise, good communication and knowing who you are as an individual. This is extremely important especially if you are bringing someone else into your life. How can you expect another person to understand you, If you don't understand who you are and what you truly need and expect in a relationship? Not to mention what are you able to give to someone else.

As you listen to today's show tell us what are your thoughts on relationships? How do you think break-ups can be handled better? Do you have a break-up story you want to share?

  • Dating Someone Who Is Trying to Change You.

On this episode of the Simply Straight Talk Show, Reggie tackling the topic of why people want to change others when they start dating.

Nothing can make you question your self-esteem like dating a person who feels they person they met standards need to be changed. I know this from personal experience. I've dated people who've told me you need to dress more like this person or I need to start doing other things and stop wasting time on my hobby. So this makes me ask the question, what makes a person excepting of you when they first meet and then decide to rewrite who you are when you start dating.

We also must determine what things are acceptable to ask a person to change about their life. I do feel there are some things we should change if it means we are going to have a healthier relationship.

This also brings into question the honesty of a person during the initial dating stages. For example, If I asked someone is there anything about me that bothers you and she says no, but three months into the relationship she says I never liked the idea of you being a writer. Do you think this is fair?

Don't forget to like and subscribe to the show. Tell us how you feel about people asking you to change. Also, what are some things you think a person should not request you to change about yourself?

  • Singers With Music You Should Listen To!

On today's episode of the Simply Straight Talk Show, Reggie will be discussing some singers with whose music you should listen to.  Music is an important part of people’s lives and it will always play a part in our daily activities.  Music can have such an amazing effect on a person's mood as well.

For this reason, we are highlighting musicians who understand what it means to create heartfelt songs. Each of these artists has been observed over the past year. We were not looking for an artist with a large social media following but singers who are able to tell a story with the songs while using their voices to elevate their heart into their music. These artists understood the importance of finding their own voice. A voice that would make them unique and true to who they are as singers/musicians. Make sure you visit their social media profiles and follow these wonderful artists. They are pursuing their dreams so let's show them some support and love.

  • My Ex is Here To Stay, Take It or Leave It

In this episode of the Simply Straight Talk show, Reggie is discussing the conflicts that occur when people decide to keep their ex active in their life long after the relationship has ended. In some cases, the communication or relationship with the ex actually increases when a person enters into a new relationship.

It’s not uncommon for people to maintain contact with past romantic partners. But what happens when you enter a new relationship? Do you maintain contact with an ex or cut them out? Can it be bad for your new relationship if your ex is still in your life? Should you set limits or boundaries with your ex? These are questions many of us can relate to from experience.

The heartbreaking thought of your partner possibly not being over their ex isn't exactly one that most people would want to think much about.

Though you might not want to admit that you see potential signs that your partner isn't over their ex, many of them aren't exactly subtle. And once you see them clearly, it may be challenging for you to continue to move forward pretending that everything is fine.

In today's show, we are going to list some of the reasons a person maintain a relationship with their ex. We will also discuss the reasons this good effect your new relationship or opportunity to meet the person you are destined to be with in life.
