For her eyes only

As a writer for her first series she did pretty well you need less wind and more meat to the a tion to sustain the thrill.

An adrenaline-spiking, page-turning, and steamy read

I really enjoyed Shannon Curtis' For Her Eyes Only, the third book in her McCormack Security Agency Series. Yes, I love romantic suspense and in order to give this a fair review I absolutely HAD to read the previous two store sin this series, Viper's Kiss (Book 1) / Guarding Jess (Book 2), right? Well, that was my excuse anyway and soon I was happily immersed in some adrenaline-spiking, page-turning reads. I really enjoyed this series and For Her Eyes Only is filled with plot twists and suspects, as well as some steamy scenes. Ryan, the hero, an operative with McCormack Security is paired with a desk worker at the security agency, Vicky. They once shared a steamy kiss, but then Ryan beat a hasty retreat, now however they are undercover (in more ways than one) at a couples resort where some unsavory things seem to be taking place. I'd highly recommend you take a look at all three books in the series, but if not, this story does stand on its own. A fun summertime read when the days are hot, as the winter descriptions may help you cool off.

Uneven Tone Hurts the Read

There were things I liked about this third installment of Curtis' McCormack Security Agency series. Despite a limited amount of exposition to set this book into the series and a perplexing setup for the plot conflict (why was a security agency doing what police are supposed to do?), the story starts with a vicious killing that sets the sort of dark, edgy tone that I like in romantic suspense, and there's no doubt that the killers are Bad Guys riding the Crazy Train. That worked for me, as did several crafty, well-conceived and executed plot points in the suspense thread. Overall, I was surprised and pleased by the big picture of the conflict when it's finally revealed late in the book as it reaches its climax.

There were also elements of the romance that amused and charmed, and the cute, sometimes goofy, sexy heat between Vicky and Ryan made up for some of the less favorable points in their relationship.

Damaged Girl/Boy Meet STILL Kept My Interest 4****

Where does Love Me Not rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?

I've listened to a TON of books. While the formula:

Damaged boy meets damaged girl=fix one another

has been done to death THIS story held my interest and had enough unique qualities to become engrossed.

The author and reader as usual doesn't disappoint. So interesting and absorbing from the outset.

His Brother's Wfe

Another marvellous story set in the Hull coastal area but this time of a farming family with secrets. Life must have been so hard for some people in those days but the story had a lovely ending. I can't wait to listen to another book written by Val Wood and read beautifully by Anne Dover.

The story itself was actually good.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator read the story like an old person. The men voices were read as whining little girls. I was looking forward to listening to the book because of the good reviews. What a disappointment!

Great book!

Excellent! I decided to take a break from regency romances and come back into modern times. This book was exactly what the doctor ordered, a perfect combination of heart & heat. Enjoyed this narrator as well.

Lu. She was a fab heroine. on the brink of finding herself having suffered great tragedy. She was feisty, warm and self-depricating- very relatable!

Will and Lu, she nailed their sexy banter. Her accents were great. LOVE her.

The love she has for her brothers, who she raised after losing her parents was very touching.

Cute mind candy

The main character in this story, Erin, is a young aspiring actress who has just discovered that her longtime boyfriend is a cad. She finds herself single, jobless, and homeless all at the same time.

And then she is given the tarnished lamp containing...a genie! And she has 4 wishes to make! Not 3, like the fairy tales tell, but 4! It's a veritable flood of wishes!

How she uses these wishes is the core of this story, and it's a great fun read. Teel, the genie, is laugh-out-loud hilarious. And Erin herself, a sweet girl with lousy taste in men, decides to 'swear off' romance just before meeting Timothy, who is attractive PLUS.

I needed a good laugh when I picked up this book, and I got it. It's a silly, fun read.

An engaging read

This book adds a bit more complexity that the rest of the series. I like the whole premise of these books although her other magic series, I think, is a better read.

amusing yet poignant romantic urban fantasy

Wannabe actress Erin Hollister affirms her belief that bad things come in three. First she was rejected for a part in a Mamet play as she was the wrong body type. Second her time at the Equity Audition Center made her late for her survival job at Concerned Caters and she performs poorly so is fired. Finally she thinks she is pregnant, but when she tells her significant other, he accuses her of irresponsibility before dumping her.

Her friend Becca (see When Good Wishes Go Bad) and her significant other Ryan are going to Africa for a year so she asks Erin to stay in her condo at not cost while she is overseas. Inside the condo, Erin finds a crate with her name on it that she assumes Becca left her. She opens the crate to find an old tarnished brass lantern. When she cleans it with a rag, a man appears in a police uniform out of nowhere. He says his name is Teel and he gives her the standard genie contract in which he fulfills her wishes in exchange for free time outside the lamp, but she must choose rather quickly before the offer expires.

This is an amusing yet poignant romantic urban fantasy as Erin struggles with what to wish for as she learns what matters in life.

I liked this story and it had a different kind of storyline. The author managed to get me involved in the characters and pull of the quick romance, despite the short length of the book. I enjoyed both the H and the h. A recommended quick read.

Terry Spear has outdone herself with this one. Every line is witty and delightful. Great Read! I love, love this one.

Catch me if you can

Ms. Spear has written a wonderful, light-hearted contemporary that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. With witty dialogue and characters that leap off the page, I highly recommend Exchanging Grooms.

To be honest since reading the "wolf" series I wasn't sure how I was going to like this one. Talk about being thoroughly surprised and enjoying the book - it makes me wish I had stood someone up and tried to return my gown (just don't think I would have been lucky enough to meet "tall, dark and handsome").This was a nice weekend read and I can't wait to get into more of Terry Spear's books.

i struggle following the story. it jumps from one character to another character. it lacks fluidity.

Not Good

The story had so much unnecessary detail that it ruined it. The narrator was terrible. His voice was too deep and there wasn't much difference when he switched characters, especially a women's voice. I think if I would have read the story instead I might have given it 2 stars but nothing more.

A wonderful performance!

What was most disappointing about Kimberly Langs story?

The story was very predictable and the characters were contrived and unbelievable. I couldn't feel for them or their struggles.

What about Carolyn Lights performance did you like?

Ms. Light's narration was a pleasure to listen to! She was articulate, expressive, and switched seamlessly between the different character voices, accents, and narrative. Her performance was the only thing that kept me interested in this book.

Amazing

Loved it. For a book that isn't very long I felt it really dug into the lives of Nate and Sasha. I actually appreciated that it did not have the big climatic blow up scene that is common in romances. They did go their separate ways but it was more subtle and a nice change from what I typically read. The chemistry is there from the moment the meet in the men's bathroom. looking forward to reading the next book in the series about Sasha's sister Cassis.

Backstage with Her Ex

In Lousia Georgeâs new novel Backstage with her Ex, Nate Munro has things handed to him a little too easily. And he thinks his highschool crush is just another groupie. But Sasha has a different agenda, she needs support from Nate to help raise funds so that the choir she teaches make it to a musical contest.

I have to admit at first I did not like the character of Nate. He was a little too arrogant. And thought because of his wealth, fame and money it could buy him anything he wanted. Having as many women as he wanted did not help either. While he did turn around by the time he went to Italy with Sasha, I am not sure as a reader I was buying his change where women were concerned. But I have to admit there is something about a bad boy that women just love! Not sure if it is the challenge or something else that makes them so appealing.

Now the character of Sasha I absolutely fell in love with. She devoted her time and her love to her gifted students and would do anything to help make their dreams come true. My only complaint with her character was I thought she fell into bed a little too easily with Nate. I cannot imagine going through what Sashaâs character endured when her father died. Louisa always seems to pull heart wrenching emotions out of her readers with her novels.

I did love the verbal exchanges between Sasha and Nate. And I especially thought that they connected really well when they went to Italy.

I highly recommend this to fans of Lousia George.

feel good story

So the world is about to end. This novel follows the stories of three teenagers, each struggling with their own personal pasts. Through a miraculous turn of each each comes to embrace the things in life that matter most.

The narrator did an amazing job with this novel. The novel starts off a little slow, with a tad too much backstory. Soon the plot and characters get moving. Unfortunately, the climax of each story comes to soon. The novels drags on at the end.
