This month I was once again in control of the CFMU studio at McMaster University and helming the O-Zilla Radio show. The boys were kind enough to pass along their password; I launched a live show on a Sunday evening, bringing everyone a taste of an industry night, complete with a 90 minute tribal house set.

This show brings a lot of higher energy, shake yer’ tail feathers, tam tam and percussion to the table with some awesome tracks from Re.you, Lunar Plane, Dany Cohiba and Simone Vitullo. Hi everyone and welcome to the October edition of Sinfully Mixed Nights.

This month I created a more melodic mix as I’m really digging these seemingly down-tempo tunes, in the 120 BPM range, but have a great complex structure and build into something that gets you engaged.

I’m starting to play around a bit more with musical keys, and for someone who’s never studied music, played an instrument or tried producing a song, it felt very uncomfortable, but that’s really the only way to challenge and grow.

The air has taken a crisper turn as the sun is setting earlier and earlier, the trees shed their summer garb and the season of brightness and bloom gives way to the time of rest, recuperation and hibernation, which precedes the coming brightness of the winter snow.

I feel that this mix captures that changing of the seasons, as it goes from a lighter melodic theme, with tracks from Eelke Kleijn and Bross, to a darker more driving middle section with Female, from Several Definitions and Boavista from Stephan Bodzin. Before finally brightening up with Oliver Koletzki’s Serpiente Del Ritmo and finishing with an amazing remix of Alba from Elkins, by Hot Since 82.

I wanted to first thank everyone that tuned into my Ozilla Radio show last month, it felt a little more normal to have a larger ‘live’ audience and I’m hoping that by the end of this year, we’ll be back to a point where I can do a live club show.

This month brings the lazy melodic poolside heat for the first half of the mix, as the temperatures start to climb and the sun starts to work its magic.

Hi everyone and welcome to a special edition of Sinfully Mixed Nights for April 2021.

This month I did my first live virtual performance, outside of my own podcast, with a live stream, courtesy of the team at O-Zilla Radio. They let me take over the show for almost 2 hours and I put together this 16 track, progressive tech set for you all to enjoy.

I went a bit harder musically than I normally do, since this was more of a performance and show, but the track selection is still right in that lovely sound that you’re all used to!

Next month, I will be going live on Twitch, so you can look me up on there and I plan with that new platform, create a specific monthly schedule that I’ll follow on my channel, so you will know when I’ll be online doing these shows. This is a first for me, so here’s to climbing this new learning curve!

I’d normally be somewhere sunnier at this time of year and getting more of an island influence to my musical pallet, but due to ongoing travel restrictions, I’ve had to settle on the next best thing; jam packing my crate with more percussion and drums.

This month brings a higher energy charge, with tracks from Derun, Urban Flex and Mass Digital as I blur the line between tech and tribal. It’s funny because a lot of what on this month is classified as ‘Organic/Downtempo’ by Beatport; showing that it’s all in the ear of the beholder!
