We’re straight outta quarantine here for the August edition of Sinfully Mixed Nights.

This month I took extensive liberty at crate digging through Beatports new ‘Organic House/Downtempo’ genre. I know that if you start a discussion on genres and how to classify music, you better have a clear schedule for a few hours and prepared to get into lengthy discussions on what people feel music gets classified under.

Suffice to say, Tech House, Deep Tech, Melodic Tech, Organic Tech...it’s all about how a song makes you feel. Does it feel like a beach at sunset? How about crisp night air with the stars shining above? The rush of a sweaty packed dance floor? All I see is my role in creating that vibe and telling a story.

This month just happens to be a story that used a lot of tracks from that style; the judge on if it is good/successful is you; my listener.

This month I experimented with my Facebook fan page and found out a little too late that the audio didn’t come through...but it did on my personal page AND of course my Instagram, so 2 outta 3 ain’t bad.

With the planet on lockdown, a BRB sign hanging off of the moon and a virus with a name that unfortunately has crushed a certain beer like an aluminum can under a heavy boot, we’ve physically distanced ourselves to a place where only music really can get to.

This month on my live stream, I had both my Facebook and Instagram live videos going, to give some perspective on my setup and to engage with as many people as I could as I wound through my set.

I’ve gone back to more of that melodic progressive sound that I love. But to provide some musical support into the ears of as many people as I could, I’ve done a couple of other shows, off the cuff. So I encourage you to follow me on social media, to catch these impromptu sessions.
