The dog days of summer are upon us. But luckily, there are still lots of movies in theaters and streaming to take your mind off things. This week we've got the action adventure film "Bullet Train" starring Brad Pitt as an unlucky criminal determined to do his job peacefully after one too many gigs gone off the rails. Fate, however, may have other plans, as Ladybug's latest mission puts him on a collision course with lethal adversaries from around the globe-all with connected, yet conflicting, objectives-on the world's fastest train. Bill Bregoli saw it and he'll tell you in no uncertain terms what he thought of it. Meanwhile Neil Rosen fills us in on "Resurrection," a thriller starring Rebecca Hall and Tim Roth. Bill McCuddy has "not Okay" starring Zoey Deutch as an ambitious young woman who finds followers and fame when she poses as the survivor of a deadly attack, but she soon learns that online notoriety comes with a terrible price. But that's not all. Neil tells us about an episode of "Better Call Saul" that he really liked and Bill B talks about the third season of the "Harley Quinn" animated series. It's been a long, hot summer so far but Jordan Peele, who did "Get Out" and "Us" has a new movie simply called "Nope." The title certainly doesn't give the plot away but Bill McCuddy and Bill Bregoli have seen it and they'll tell you all about it. They also saw the new Netflix action thriller "The Gray Man" starring Ryan Gosliing and they'll fill you in on that as well. Neil Rosen remembers the late Paul Sorvino and he also fills us in on "Better Call Saul" and Ethan Hawke's new documentary "The Last Movie Stars." And speaking of documentaries, Bill McCuddy explains how he wound up in "Victoria's Secret: Angels and Demons" and he tells about seeing Amy Schumer perform recently. Big movies are taking over the theaters again but that doesn't mean the streamers are taking it easy. That's why we're starting with "Cha Cha Real Smooth which is on Apple TV+ and is written, directed and stars Cooper Raif as young man who works as a Bar Mitzvah party host strikes up a friendship with a mother, played by Dakota Johnson, and her autistic daughter. We've also got "Jurassic World: Dominion" which is gobbling up your local multiplex. But then it's back to streaming with "Hustle" which is on Netflix and stars Adam Sandler as a basketball scout who discovers a phenomenal street ball player while in Spain and sees the prospect as his opportunity to get back into the NBA. We've also got "Irma Vep" which stars Alicia Vikander as an American movie star disillusioned by her career and recent breakup, who comes to France to star as Irma Vep in a remake of the French silent film classic, "Les Vampires." There's all that and more, so listen in!

It must be Summer because there's a golf movie of all things. "The Phantom of the Opera" is based on a true story and stars Oscar winner Mark Rylance as Maurice Flitcroft, a dreamer and unrelenting optimist, managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship Qualifying in 1976 and subsequently shot the worst round in Open history, becoming a folk hero in the process. Neil Rosen saw it and tells us all about it. Then, for some reason we talk about the oh so tawdry Amber Heard and Johnnie Depp trial outcome and whether either one of them will ever work again. Bill Bregoli tells us about the new Ricky Gervais Netflis comedy special and Bill McCuddy tells us about going to see "Top Gun: Maverick" after Bill Bregoli saw it two weeks ago. The summer movie season is creeping along and this week there's actually a movie for grown ups. It's Downton Abbey: A New Era," a big screen version of the absurdly popular PBS series about rich people who live in a big house with (apparently) a leaky roof. Bill McCuddy saw it in the Hamptons (more rich people, more leaky roofs) and tells us what he thinks. Neil Rosen tells us about the remake of "Firestarter" which is in theaters and on Peacock and Bill Bregoli fills us in on "Operation Mincemeat" which is based on a true story about spies during WWII. But that's not all. We've also got the cheerleader in a coma comedy "Senior Year" starring Rebel Wilson and the new AppleTV+ series "the Essex Serpent starring Claire Danes and Tom Hiddleston. Plus Neil explains what the TV Upfronts are again and digresses a bit. So listen in!

It's definitely May now and the first of the summer movie blockbusters is taxiing for takeoff. It's "Top Gun: Maverick" and Bil Bregoli stored his tray table in the upright position and saw it. There are lots of new shows streaming all of a sudden. There are also old shows ending their run as well as shows starting their second season. So we're here to tell you what to catch up on and what you may want to stop watching. We start with the new Hulu series "Under the Banner of Heaven" starring Andrew Garfield as a devout detective whose faith is tested as he investigates a brutal murder seemingly connected to an esteemed Utah family's spiral into LDS fundamentalism and their distrust in the government. Bill Bregoli and Bill McCuddy will tell you about that, Then Neil fills us in of the series finale of "Ozark" as well as the long awaited new season of "Better Call Saul." Bill McCuddy tells us about his recent chat with actor Tony Lo Bianco on the fiftieth anniversary of "The French Connection."
