The movie hype machine has shaken off the doldrums and is revving at full speed. The much hyped movies and shows are on their way and we've been checking them out for you. First we've got "Blonde." It's a fictionalized chronicle of the inner life of Marilyn Monroe starring Ana de Armas. It's on Netflix and you've probably heard about it. Well, all three of us have seen it and you should probably listen to what we think before you watch it. You'll thank us later. Then we've got "Don't Worry Darling" which also has gotten a ton of press. Bill Bregoli checked it out and he'll tell you all about it. Neil Rosen has "Titans: The Rise of Hollywood" which is available on a free streaming channel and Bill McCuddy has the documentary "McEnroe" in which John McEnroe as he finally tells his side of his storied career and performances on the court. But wait, there's more! We'll all tell you about the new comedy series "Reboot" which follows an early 2000s family sitcom that Hulu has rebooted and their dysfunctional cast. And there's the Netflix teen comedy "Do Revenge," the Netflix thriller "Lou" and a documentary on Joan Collins. It's all pretty cool, so listen in!

Fall doesn't officially begin for another week but we're already seeing a bumper crop of entertainment options. This week we begin with "The Woman King" starring Viola Davis and it's the remarkable story of the Agojie, the all-female unit of warriors who protected the African Kingdom of Dahomey in the 1800s with skills and a fierceness unlike anything the world has ever seen. Bill Bregoli saw it and he'll tell you all about it. Neil Rosen fills us in on the new season of "A Handmaid's Tale" and then he and Bill McCuddy have "The Resurrection," a thriller starring Rebecca Hall. We've also got the David Bowie documentary (sort of) "Moonage Daydream" and Neil finally catches up with "Elvis." And if you're into things Welsh we've got "Welcome to Wrexham" and "The Letdown." It's the end of August and lots of people are on vacation - but not us! We've been sifting through the end of summer's entertainment options for you. And there are quite a few - starting with "Day Shift." It's a Netflix comedy starring Jamie Foxx and Dave Franco. It's about a hard-working, blue-collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted 10-year-old daughter. His mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income: hunting and killing vampires. Then we've got "Bad Sisters" on Apple TV. It's a really dark Irish comedy about 5 Irish sisters who really support each other. Bill Bregoli tells us about it. Bill McCuddy fills us in on the Netflix series "Echoes" starring Michelle Monaghan as identical twins who have secretly swapped their lives since they were children. Neil Rosen has a book report and talks one last time (he promises) about "Better Call Saul." There's also the low-budget thriller "Fall" about two BFFs who find themselves at the top of a 2,000-foot transmitter tower. Plus we've got the HBO Max documentary "The Princess" in which Princess Diana's story is told exclusively through contemporaneous archive creating a bold and immersive narrative of her life and death. And there's "The Immaculate Room" starring Kate Bosworth and Emile Hirsch as a seemingly perfect young couple who competes for a 5 million dollar prize by isolating themselves in an empty white room for 50 days. The heat wave has broken, tomatoes are ripe and we're in the final weeks of summer. Summer at the box-office to be precise. And we've got lots of entertainment options for you to check out. First we've got "Thirteen Lives." It's directed by Ron Howard and tells how rescue mission was assembled in Thailand where a group of young boys and their soccer coach were trapped in a system of underground caves. It's based on a true story and Bill McCuddy tells us all about it. Then we've got the new Netflix documentary "Trainwreck: Woodstock '99" which is all about the infamous concert. Plus there's Emily the Criminal" starring Aubrey Plaza as a young woman who gets involved in a credit card scam that pulls her into the criminal underworld of Los Angeles, ultimately leading to deadly consequences. Neil Rosen has a book report on an new book about TV director James Burrows and Bill Bregoli fills us in on the "Predator" prequel "Prey." He also tells us about the animated feature "Luck." We've also got the new Neil LaBute drama "House of Darkness" and the documentary "The Most Hated Man on the Internet." The dog days of summer are upon us. But luckily, there are still lots of movies in theaters and streaming to take your mind off things. This week we've got the action adventure film "Bullet Train" starring Brad Pitt as an unlucky criminal determined to do his job peacefully after one too many gigs gone off the rails. Fate, however, may have other plans, as Ladybug's latest mission puts him on a collision course with lethal adversaries from around the globe-all with connected, yet conflicting, objectives-on the world's fastest train. Bill Bregoli saw it and he'll tell you in no uncertain terms what he thought of it. Meanwhile Neil Rosen fills us in on "Resurrection," a thriller starring Rebecca Hall and Tim Roth. Bill McCuddy has "not Okay" starring Zoey Deutch as an ambitious young woman who finds followers and fame when she poses as the survivor of a deadly attack, but she soon learns that online notoriety comes with a terrible price. But that's not all. Neil tells us about an episode of "Better Call Saul" that he really liked and Bill B talks about the third season of the "Harley Quinn" animated series. It's been a long, hot summer so far but Jordan Peele, who did "Get Out" and "Us" has a new movie simply called "Nope." The title certainly doesn't give the plot away but Bill McCuddy and Bill Bregoli have seen it and they'll tell you all about it. They also saw the new Netflix action thriller "The Gray Man" starring Ryan Gosliing and they'll fill you in on that as well. Neil Rosen remembers the late Paul Sorvino and he also fills us in on "Better Call Saul" and Ethan Hawke's new documentary "The Last Movie Stars." And speaking of documentaries, Bill McCuddy explains how he wound up in "Victoria's Secret: Angels and Demons" and he tells about seeing Amy Schumer perform recently. Big movies are taking over the theaters again but that doesn't mean the streamers are taking it easy. That's why we're starting with "Cha Cha Real Smooth which is on Apple TV+ and is written, directed and stars Cooper Raif as young man who works as a Bar Mitzvah party host strikes up a friendship with a mother, played by Dakota Johnson, and her autistic daughter. We've also got "Jurassic World: Dominion" which is gobbling up your local multiplex. But then it's back to streaming with "Hustle" which is on Netflix and stars Adam Sandler as a basketball scout who discovers a phenomenal street ball player while in Spain and sees the prospect as his opportunity to get back into the NBA. We've also got "Irma Vep" which stars Alicia Vikander as an American movie star disillusioned by her career and recent breakup, who comes to France to star as Irma Vep in a remake of the French silent film classic, "Les Vampires." There's all that and more, so listen in!

It must be Summer because there's a golf movie of all things. "The Phantom of the Opera" is based on a true story and stars Oscar winner Mark Rylance as Maurice Flitcroft, a dreamer and unrelenting optimist, managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship Qualifying in 1976 and subsequently shot the worst round in Open history, becoming a folk hero in the process. Neil Rosen saw it and tells us all about it. Then, for some reason we talk about the oh so tawdry Amber Heard and Johnnie Depp trial outcome and whether either one of them will ever work again. Bill Bregoli tells us about the new Ricky Gervais Netflis comedy special and Bill McCuddy tells us about going to see "Top Gun: Maverick" after Bill Bregoli saw it two weeks ago.
