One night in November, a man came upon what he thought was a deer lying in the road, but as he got closer, he realized it was human. The victim was a young woman named Kristen Grindley, a recent graduate from the University of Washington. She wore no shoes or coat and was unconscious and clinging to life. When Kristen came to, she had very few memories, including what had happened that night. Was it an accident, or had someone tried to kill her?

After the case, we do a build your own horror movie palette cleanser, followed by a few more "Have you Ever?" questions and a shower thought courtesy of Erin's oldest daughter.

This week our virtual true crime road trip has us in Kentucky and Pennsylvania.

Erin kicks things off with the story of Brookelyne Farthing, a young woman who went to a party, was left stranded by a friend, but managed to catch a break from a friend of her ex-boyfriend - or so she thought.

After a discussion about getting into the wrong car, O'Dell covers the case of Phylicia Thomas, a young woman who was determined to find out who was responsible for her best friend's disappearance, and then went missing herself. This case has a surprising connection to another case that Erin covered way back on episode 10.

We close things out with a crazy tale of a killer hickey, and then cleanse the palette with a chat about reality TV competitions and how and when we would exit.

On this episode O'Dell covers the unsolved murder of John P "Jack" Wheeler whose body was found in a landfill in Delaware. Jack worked as a White House aide to Ronald Reagan and both Presidents Bush. At the time of his death, he was working as a contractor for a cyber security company. Details of his last days are sparse and worrisome. Was Jack running from someone? Were his ties to the White House and his work in cyber security what led to his death, or was he simply a victim of circumstance?

Erin then covers the case of the Lane Bryant Massacre in Illinois. Five women were shot and killed and a single survivor managed to give a very detailed account of what the man looked like, but police have still not apprehended the suspect.

We close things out with a story about two bitter children and an unfortunate obituary, and then cleanse the palette with a few "have you ever?" questions.

Erin kicks things off with the mysterious death of 2-year-old Ricky Morehouse III. His mother claimed that the house caught fire and she was only able to save Ricky's twin brother, Reggy. Investigators deemed the fire an act of arson, but was Ricky's death an accident?

O'Dell then travels to Baltimore to tell the story of the unsolved death of 14-year-old Carolyn Wasilewski, a young woman whose interest in the "drape" culture may have led to her murder. This case inspired John Waters' film, "Cry Baby".

Erin closes things out with the story of a kid who went to extreme lengths to get out of community service.

On this episode, Erin discusses the case of a woman who survived an attack by the infamous Railroad Killer.

In 1997, Holly Dunn and her then boyfriend Chris Maier were out walking along the railroad tracks near the University of Kentucky when they were approached by a man who demanded money from them. The man was Ángel Maturino Reséndiz, someone who would later be known by the moniker, The Railroad Killer. Holly miraculously survived, but Chris did not.

After the case we give updates on the Jonelle Matthews case (episode 45), the status of Cameron Hooker's case (Slash #4: Colleen Stan. The Girl in the Box) and discuss a new Travis Walton documentary (episode 20).

We close out discussing some listener comments about our time travel palette cleanser and then discuss what we would do if we could travel to the future.

On this episode we visit North Carolina and Minnesota to discuss two more unsolved cases.

O'Dell kicks things off the the unsolved murder case of Davina "Dee" Buff Jones. Davina was a rookie police officer who was shot one night while on patrol. Despite being shot in the back of the head, authorities tried to pass it off as a suicide. Her family knew better and set out to prove that something was amiss, but what and why?

Erin then covers the case of 17-year-old Hang Lee, a Laos refugee, who had moved to St. Paul, Minnesota with her family. One day she went with a friend to talk to a guy about a job, and was never seen or heard from again.

O'Dell closes things out with a story of a parrot who helped solve a murder, and then we cleanse the palette with a "what would you do" straight out of the movie, "Don't Look Up".

Today's episode includes two cases where the victims go missing, but then found dead several months (or years) later.

Erin kicks things off with the strange case of Arnold Archambeau and Ruby Bruguier, a young Native couple who went missing after a car crash. They were missing for three months, and then found very close to where the crash occurred, and under very mysterious circumstances.

O'Dell covers the case of LeRyan Nicholson, a Nashville teen who went missing while out for a walk. His mother reported him missing, but then unbeknownst to LeRyan's family, a woman called and reported him safe. Fourteen years later, his sisters discover he was the victim of a horrible murder.

To close things out, Erin shares a WTF story about a man killed by an orange peel, and then she provides O'Dell with a few "would you rather" questions to cleanse the palette.

This week we both happened to select cases that are filled with suspicious activity.

O'Dell kicks things off with the story of William Comeans who disappeared from his front yard in 1980. He was found 20-minutes later - the victim of a vicious attack. This wasn't the first time William had been attacked, and when several of his neighbors begin receiving threatening letters, the entire neighborhood worries that one of their loved ones may be next.

Erin then covers the case of Steven Haataja, a beloved math professor who went missing. His burned body was found bound to a tree, and the police ended up ruling it a suicide which seems highly unlikely. What happened to Steven?

O'Dell closes things out with a WTF story about sex dolls mistaken for dead bodies, and then we cleanse the palette with a different take on "Would you rather?"

On this episode, O'Dell discuses the case of Mark Twitchell, a filmmaker and aspiring serial killer obsessed with the TV show, "Dexter".

One night, Mark posed as a woman on a dating site, luring in a man named Gilles Tetrault who narrowly escaped with his life. A few days later, Mark tried again, this time murdering a man by the name of Johnny Altinger. He almost got away with it, but the detective on the case was very tenacious. This is an interesting one!

O'Dell then gives an update on the Rhonda Hinson case and we close out with a "would you rather" palette cleanser.

This week our cases are all about friends, both the unreliable ones and the ones who stick by you no matter what.

Erin kicks things off with the murder of Alonzo Brooks - a Black man who went to a party with his friends in what was known as a very racist town. The friends left Alonzo at the party and several weeks later, his body was found. Do the friends know more than they are letting on?

O'Dell then covers the murders of 13-year-old Abby Williams and 14-year-old Libby German, best friends who went for a hike one day, but didn't come home. Their bodies were found the following day, and despite video and audio footage captured by Libby before their murders, police still haven't arrested a suspect.

Erin shares a WTF story about a man who was so afraid of being poisoned that he refused to eat, and then we close out the show with a palette cleanser straight out of "Indecent Proposal", and Adam makes his podcast debut!
