Legend has it that if you say ‘SkeleTales’ three times into a mirror you will be doomed to speak in a poorly executed Australian accent for the rest of your days. Likewise, if your phone rings and the person on the end of the line breathes heavily before maniacally snort laughing, leave your home immediately, there is a SkeleTale inside your house!

Thats right folks, this week’s enigmatic episode focuses on the very real phenomena of false fables known as Urban Legends. Are lesser known Urban Legends sub-urban legends? If so, then, dear listeners check your backseat and settle in for some suburban legends that very well make your hair go white by the end of the episode. 

The first tale focuses on a man named Arnold Brittany Wright who has a sick and insatiable need to prob unsuspecting buttholes. How many? No one knows. What is known is that A.B.W. performed his devious deeds disguised as an extraterestrial for decades along rural Texas highways.

While ‘ol Arnie Wright put his victims through hell, Alissa’s first tale takes you to the Stairway to Hell in Maltby Cemetary in Bothell Washington. Rumored to be built by a satanist family, you too can glimpse the gates of hell... Just be sure to bring a shovel.

After you visit hell, head over to Marfa, Texas for a glimpse of heaven, with the Marfa lights. Somehow the best explanation science could come up with to explain these illuminated oddities is that they are headlights, though they were first spotted in 1883, well before vehicular headlamps were the norm.

Alissa's final tale shines a light on bizarre tale  of Mel’s Hole near Ellensburg, Washington. Britt brings a solid theory to the table that explains the lore surrounding the gaping phenomena and the ladies will be writing Atlas Obscura shortly to inform them that the case of Mel’s Hole has been closed.

This week’s warm serving of SkeleTales will all of satiate your spooky cravings. From unxplained event off the coast of Shag Harbor, Nova Scotia to a Aussie’s odd encounter in a New Orleans Hotel, this is something of an international fright fest.

Britt’s friend kept SkeleTales in mind when booking a recent trip to New Orleans, electing to stay on the most haunted floor of the notorious Hotel Monteleone in the French Quarter.  According to Becca, the Inn’s haunted reputation is well deserved.

Heading north for a bit, Alissa brings stories of unexplained phenomenon in Canada including the most famous UFO sighting you have never heard of. Perhaps unsurprising, it turns out Canada itself is something of an unexplained phenomena to the ladies.

Mary the Melancholy Ghost of Mississipi Women’s College makes another unenthusiastic appearance on the podcast, bringing with her a bit more clarity on her origins and antics.

With her eyes ever to the sky, Alissa wraps up the episode with more tales of space travel, this time in the form of a haunting involving the  Challenger Shuttle explosion.

In this week’s episode the ladies bring you stories of ghostly encounters coincidentaly include encounters of the closest kind... the touching kind. Ghostly hand holding, ghostly foot grabbing, ghostly shoulder brushing, all sorts of body parts are being touched by spirits unseen.

Britt starts hot out of the gates with an adorable anecdote about inflicting the touch of death upon what the ladies agreed was her grandmother in spider form. Not too worry, she will be back soon in the form of one of Britt’s pet rats where she will inevitably succumb once again to Britt’s inescapable death claw.

Speaking of grandmas, Austin-based listener Britt #2  (not to be confused with dear host Britt #1) wrote in to share her many tales of grandmotherly visitations and other strange phenomena that occur around her. One such tale involves  a brief  mention of a snowglobe, which Alissa is drawn to like a moth to flame.

Breaking the spell of the snowglobe Alissa is able to relay the tale of a haunted Hannon house in Buffalo, NY. Having briefly mention this rushing ghost in a previoius episode, Alissa tells the flushed out version involving an elderly woman gone missing. Alissa goes on to share tales of listener Todd’s tormented childhood where he was stalked by shadow men and on at least one occasion, unwanted, yet gentle hand holding.

Britt wraps up the episode with Taylor’s tale of an menacing presence who shares her subterannean space and pulls her hair. This one includes a haunting ask by an innocent child that will give you chills for days.

This week Alissa and Britt sit down with Derrick Krobusek, a man with stories to satisfy all of your paranormal needs.

Derrick is the founder of an awesome Subaru group in Austin called Bat City Subies. He is a multi-talented man with the skills to fix cars, houses, and Alissa’s mind about the supernatural. 

Derrick finally tells the story he’s been teasing for months about a brewery ghost that likes to sneak in late at night and scare the staff. This one involves a diagram so you get an audio and visual on this one! 

He continues by telling us a ghost story of a friend who was conned into being haunted.

We travel to Savannah where we hear of a haunted bar that either has a really strong AC flow or ice cold ghosts who walk through the patrons.

We get a taste of Derrick's premonition where his one restless night of sleep leads to the discovery of a relative having passed away. This strange “gift” must run in the family because both his sister and his mom experienced something as well.

We are delighted with a story that has to be more than just dumb luck where a shirtless Derrick runs through the bush towards the train tracks on a hot day in June to be rescued by a one in a million chance. You’ll have to listen to get the rest of that story!

We get an inside scoop on Hangar 18, are there UFOs in there or just engines being cooled? We’ll get the first inside scoop once we can brainstorm the best way to get Derrick's dad to spill the beans.

Y’all, its time. The ladies busted out the space dust, donned their tinfoil caps and set their phasers to ‘stun’ - as in, they will stun you, dear listeners, with some out of this world tales of unexplained ariel phenomenon (UAPs) in this week’s episode

Alissa briefly surfaced from a 96 hour deep dive into a cosmic rabbit hole to record, bringing with her the truth about UFOs according to Blink-182’s former frontman Tom DeLonge; the truth that he said she and Britt they couldn’t handle. But Tommy boy underestimated your dear hosts, they handled the s@$% out of his super trippy theory.

Britt then went where SkeleTales has never gone before, scouring old newspaper articles and watching crummy documentaries to bring y’all the unexplained phenomena of Skinwalker Ranch in  Uintah County, Utah. UFOs and UAPs are the least of the problems experienced by Terry and Gwen Sherman during the years they inhabited the fabled property. Your head will be spinning faster than a flying saucer after listening to this mind-bending episode.

Believe it or not folks, the ladies did not immediately shut down the podcast after the Drunkisode and showed up once again to bring you some tales that will chill you to the bone... or at the least, impart a light breeze to your bones. 

Rochester, NY is known to chill a bone or two with its brutal winters and lake effect snow, but the legend of The Lady In White will give you goosebumps all year round. Alissa tells one version of this pale-frocked  legend  in which someone does, quite literally, get chilled to the bone and dies. She was NOT on drugs.

Britt may not even have heard Alissa’s tale because she is obssesed with a new man in her life; he wears a fedora, has glowing red eyes, may be an alien, demon or death himself and she cannot stop thinking about him. What started as an innocent tale told to her by her niece Ashleigh has turned into a rabbit hole of mystery and wonder featuring none other than... The Hatman.

After Britt gets done gushing about her new be-hatted crush Alissa brings a more serious tone to the episode with a peer-reviewed article by a highly reputable conspiracy theorist who chronicled his time working for the US government’s top secret, totally 70s, Project Pegasus, traveling through time with the help of an elliptical machine and a vat of protoplasm. 
 
This episode will have you laughing, gasping and sleeping with one eye open...

Dear listeners, this is the infamous Drunkisode, resurrected from Britt’s champagne soaked laptop and lightly edited for your listening pleasure. Though the ladies' recollection of this recording summons imagery of  firey trainwrecks, upon sober review of the footage, this episode is surprisingly coherent. 

Britt kicks off the episode with a gallon of champagne and a haunting tale of why you should never ask a ouija board when you will die.  Alissa then gives a peek inside the brain of little Allie Wilson with a charming elementary school murder mystery which, amazingly, did not win her a trip to the school therapist. 

The ladies then try to decide if being haunted by Mississippi University For Women’s Melancholy Mary really counts as being haunted at all and them Alissa tells a tale about a skinwalker that somehow leads to a conversation about deer crashes and deer speed records.

Britt changes the mood with a spooky-ass stalking story that you really must hear to believe. Some may even say that her tale also features a skinwalker... of sorts.

Doppelgangers finally get the attention they deserve and for seem reason they are all children wearing victorian clothing. Britt wraps up this messisode with a spooky story of a haunting encounter with a nursing home patient who may or may not have made a deal with the devil.

While sequels are often the eviler, more boring doppelganger of the originals, this encore episode is like the cooler older cousin of last week’s AMA. Its uncertain if the ladies’ brains grew in a week's time or perhaps your questions were hit harder, but hot damn, Britt and Alissa really spew the paranormal knowledge right in your face this week.

Early on in the episode Alissa gobbles up a quesion posed about UFOs and extraterrestrials like its a bowl of lucky charms right after Britt takes a big skeptical dump in it. Alissa returns the favor when discussing paranormal phenomenon as the ladies make big plans for when they become ghosts; who they would haunt, how they would haunt, what they would (or wouldn’t wear). 

Bumps in the night, deepest fears, bizzare occurances, favorite cereals; the ladies slept for 7 days straight after this episode was recorded, so powerful was the knowledge dump in this episode.
