Luke 10:30-37. As followers of Jesus we follow the example of Jesus. In Mark 10 Jesus is pretty clear that if you want to be great, you must be a servant. He continues to say that even He came to be a servant, not to be served. Therein lies that mindset for the follower of Christ. We must be servant minded. In today’s message we will look at questions that help us understand who we should serve, when we should serve, and how we should serve so that we might be difference makers for Christ.

Matthew 28:19-20 & Acts 1:8. Before Jesus leaves earth He gives His followers “the great commission” to go to all nations and make disciples. He told that to His followers then, but does that apply to us today? Is this great commission a command for everyone or a calling for a select few? Hebrews 5:11-14 & Colossians 1:9-10. We want to see and celebrate when people take that “next step”. The Bible speaks of Christians as being “renewed” and “transformed.” Both of those words indicate an initial change of heart and a continual change of mind. As Christians, we are to be continually taking next steps to become more like Christ. In this message we look at God’s Word to see that heaven celebrates taking next steps toward Christ and so should we.

Luke 12:13-21. As Gospel Centered people we have to view all that God has given us as an opportunity to spread the good news of Jesus. This mindset is available to us when we learn to live with an eternal perspective. As we look at the Parable of the Rich Fool we learn the dangers of being close fisted people and also uncover the promises that come with being open handed. We are blessed to be a blessing!

But why did Jesus, the Son of God, have to come as a baby? Why didn’t He show up as a full grown man and save Himself some time?
