R2-D2 and C-3PO visited Sesame Street in 1980, and now we're going to discuss all 5 TV segments with someone who was there: Craig Miller, Director of Fan Relations for Lucasfilm!
We are always excited to have our friend Craig Miller on the show. His years at Lucasfilm are well documented in his book, Star Wars Memories: My Time in the (Death Star) Trenches. Some of these stories include how he instigated Star Wars on Sesame Street as part of a mandate to keep Star Wars in the general zeitgeist between 1977 and 1980 (when Empire Strikes Back was released).

Never Land on Alderaan!
Even though we are just under a month until the premiere of Star Wars: ANDOR on Disney+, we are going to whet your appetite here with audio and our thoughts from the virtual press day! Not only did we learn a lot from a virtual press conference, Sarah and Richard joined Star Wars fan site roundtables featuring the cast, including Diego Luna.
While it was a joy to talk with Star Wars alums Diego Luna ("Cassian Andor" and Executive Producer), Genevieve O'Reilly ("Mon Mothma"), and Tony Gilroy (Executive Producer / Writer / Showrunner), the true surprise and delight turned out to be Star Wars newbies Kyle Soller ("Syril Karn") and Denise Gough ("Dedra Meero"). The two were paired for their roundtable and hinted at a romantic arc for their characters. In their words, "an evil love story."
Others joining in the virtual press conference include Adria Arjona ("Bix Caleen") and host Joe Neumaier, film critic for the New York Daily News.
Star Wars: ANDOR Synopsis:
ANDOR follows Cassian Andor played by Diego Luna, who reprises his role from ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY. As you may have guessed this is not a sequel to ROGUE ONE but a prequel that follows Cassian's journey from young man to Rebel, 5 years before the events of the film. It also gives us a perspective on the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire.

Hulk out with us as we share a She-Hulk comic book primer, and our thoughts on the latest Disney+ Marvel series, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law!! Then it's time for some controversial Disneyland Magic Key discussion.
She-Hulk: Attorney At Law Synopsis:
At heart, this new Marvel Disney+ series is a 30-minute comedy, following the beats of an enjoyable half-hour comedy series.
Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) is a single 30-something woman with a career as an attorney. Not only must she navigate dating and her job, but she also recently became imbued with hulk-powers, and can transform into a green 6 ft 7 in hulk. Consequently she becomes head of the Specialty division of a legal firm, focusing on superhuman-oriented legal cases.
The series is 9 episodes, and includes appearances by familiar faces. Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/Abomination, and Benedict Wong as Wong.
Disneyland Magic Keys
Disneyland Magic Keys are FINALLY ready for renewal, at a big price hike. But there are a few more perks. We share our thoughts and we want to know yours.

Max shares stories on his Master-Com cosplay outfit. Who is Master-Com you ask?
He is a droid seen in the classic Marvel Star Wars comics issues 18-23. Master-Com was the personal assistant to Simon Greyshade who was the administrator of The Wheel casino. Think of a really buff C-3PO. This costume was years in the development but Max got it done just in time for Star Wars Celebration 2022. Looking back at all the great cosplay, this was the deepest dive character.
Max also pays a heartfelt tribute to his mentor and model maker and film historian, Greg Jein, who recently passed away. Listeners of THE MAX EFX PODCAST will remember many stories Max has shared in the past as Greg was the first person to hire him in the effects back in the mid 1980's. Some of Greg's credits include Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Steven Spielberg's 1941, and Star Trek.
He will be missed but remembered very fondly…Ain't no party like a LEGO STAR WARS SUMMER VACATION!!! Tune in for a fun interview with Summer Vacation director Ken Cunningham and writer/EP David Shayne, followed by our take on the new ANDOR Trailer.

LIGHT AND MAGIC is a 6-part documentary series now streaming on Disney+. It is masterfully directed by Lawrence Kasdan - writer of The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Force Awakens, and Solo: A Star Wars Story. This phenomenal 6-part series takes you on a journey through not just the history of ILM, but the making of Star Wars and other big effects blockbusters (The Abyss, Terminator 2, Willow, Jurassic Park). We get to know the people behind these effects, and their relationships with one another.
This week Richard and I had the pleasure of participating in a series of Roundtables with director Lawrence Kasdan, legendary effects artists Dennis Muren and Phil Tippett, and Janet Lewin - Senior Vice President, Lucasfilm VFX & General Manager, ILM.
Other journalists and podcasters who asked great questions at these roundtables include Mike Celestino (Laughing Place), Tricia Barr (Fangirls Going Rogue/FanGIRL Blog), Coffee With Kenobi, Skytalkers Podcast, Star Wars Holocron, and James Burns (Jedi News).
All six parts of LIGHT AND MAGIC are streaming now on Disney+.
