Oh Leah, sister that was treated so poorly by so many. Leah who is described as less than beautiful. She is described by her lack of beauty and her seemingly inability to gain a husband of her own. She wasn't desired, wanted or loved; well by the men of this world anyway. God on the other hand, loved Leah, he saw more than her physical beauty. He saw a daughter, He saw the future, He saw the bloodline of His son! Talk about plans...
Leah's story like so many, starts with heartache and disappointment but ends in beauty. She entered a marriage based not on love, but on deceit. Jacob the deceiver, got the ultimate Tri karoo!
Many know the story but Leah was given to Jacob through means of her father tricking the groom. To make things worse, Jacob still wanted the original desire of his heart, Rachel. So, like many of that time, he entered into multiple marriages. I am sure Leah had hopes of one day stepping out the beautiful perfect shadow of Rachel.
Have any of you experienced this? Sibling rivalry, Comparison and envy. It's so hard, it ruins and taints relationships and families. Leah lived with this all her life. Just wanted to be seen, to be wanted, to be loved. She hoped desperately with every child she bore, this would be the one that brings Jacobs affection.
Sadly like many of us, she longed for love and acceptance from the wrong source, the wrong man. Only one man could give her what she so deeply needed, God!
Join Holly and Mallory as they discuss Leah, her story, her journey and her ultimate deliverance into the most loving arms she could have ever found.
