ALERT, ALERT!!! FIRST EPISODE OF SPOOKY SZN!!
This Spooky Szn, we are covering cases in New England.
Today, Christine talks about The Lady in Black (a famous New England Ghost story) and all about VAMPIRES.  No, not the ones who sparkle in the sun. No, sadly not the ones who are brothers pining over a doppleganger of their ex-gf (hello, fans of Vampire Diaries?).
No, no, no. We're talking about the OG vampires here. The ones who existed in a time where Tuberculosis was a very real threat in the U.S.
Let's sink our teeth into it...

In 1969, a body is discovered in the brush off of Mulholland Drive in LA California. The murder was extremely gruesome -- the woman was stabbed over 150 times. This unidentified woman became known as “Sherry Doe” or “Jane Doe 59.” It took 46 years for this woman to get her name back.
Jane Doe #59 is actually a woman named Reet Jurvetson, who was murdered at the young age of 19 years old.
Though there are some persons of interest, the amount of time that has passed between the murder and discovering Reet's identity, as well as some unfortunate events, have made identifying those suspects (and finding them) extremely difficult.

This case will leave you enraged.
When twin sisters Dannette Millbrook and Jeannette Millbrook go missing, nothing happens. They are labeled runaways by the primary investigator (despite clear evidence that points to the contrary) and no actual investigation is conducted until years later.

If it weren't for the horrendous lack of investigation in this case, as well as numerous errors on the part of the lead investigator and on the police reports, Dannette and Jeannette might have been found, but sadly this case is still unsolved.

On the day of their disappearance, Dannette was wearing white jeans with a white Mickey Mouse shirt and Jeannette was wearing a khaki skirt and a white turtleneck. Both girls have brown eyes and had short Jheri style curls in their hair at the time of their disappearance. They would be 49 years old today.

Please check out our instagram @smalltownmysteriespod to see pictures of both Dannette and Jeannette.

Anyone with information can contact the Richmond County Police Department dispatch at the non-emergency line of 706-821-1080, or the Criminal Investigations Division at 706-821-1020.

All four members of The Thrasher Family were found murdered in their home in Woodward, Oklahoma. The person who was eventually convicted of the murders had no obvious motive for this senseless murder.
