As Cop City protestors gathered, marched and wound up being tear-gassed, an Atlanta apartment community is reeling from the stupidity of two individuals who put celebrating birthdays with fireworks over the safety & wellness of residents. Trust me, there's a connection I'm getting to here.
Atlanta's fire department is routinely shutting down more than a quarter of its fire stations because it hasn't enough staff or trucks to do the work - but has seen calls double or triple in the last fifteen years. I mention all that to say - again - is a $90 million taxpayer investment in a public safety (cops AND firemen, we're told) training facility a higher priority than addressing this glaring need?
Oh, and Tim Scott dropped out. Meh. Lastly, Bill Nigut penned an op/ed asking a question a LOT of us were wondering, too.
