So Many Shows is back to discuss Daryl Dixon’s first two episodes of season three.
Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier made their way to London, and with the help of the last survivor in the city, they attempt to leave for the USA by boat. However, a storm has them crash on a shore in Spain.
Daryl Dixon S3Ep1:
London:
Daryl and Carol make it through the tunnels into London. There, they discover that the entire city of walkers has been dormant. They make their way into an apartment building and take refuge in one of the apartments inside. After a couple of days scrounging around the other apartments for food or supplies, they see someone signaling them with the reflection of the sun. Later that evening, Julian makes his presence known and shares a couple of rabbits with them for dinner. Julian is the last survivor living in London.
Daryl and Carol convince Julian to help them out with a sailboat, so that he can take them back to America, where he can join them if he wishes. Of course, there is an issue of all the walkers still out on the street. Julian handles that situation by having the bells of Big Ben sound. The noise draws the walkers away, and Daryl, Carol, and Julian set off on the sailboat for America.
Stephen Merchant plays Julian, best known for his comedic prowess.

On the open sea:
Things start well for the trio, but eventually their luck runs out. They encounter a massive storm and wind up on a shore. The ship is damaged, and Julian did not survive the journey. He turned to a walker that Daryl had to take out to help Carol not get bitten by Julian.

With the sailboat shipwrecked on the shore, Daryl and Carol set up a tent, where Daryl notices that Carol was injured more severely than she had let on. He helps her out, but she is far from being 100%. During the night, Daryl notices a new group of people approaching where the ship lies on the shore. He helps hide Carol and himself from being discovered. Who is this new group of people? They do not appear to be friendly. With a new group around, Daryl and Carol make their way inland and find a shelter to stay out of sight. In the morning, Daryl goes hunting for food, and on his way back, he spots a truck with a group of men driving by. He makes his way back to the shelter, but Carol is not there.

Welcome to Spain:
Candela Saitta as Justina, Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Hugo Arbués as Roberto – The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon _ Season 3, Episode 2 – Photo Credit: Manuel Fernandez-Valdes/AMC
Daryl and Carol meet up with a young couple in love and help save their lives from bandits. In return, they want the young couple to bring them back to their village so Justina’s grandma can help heal Carol. While in the town, they encounter ways that are different from what they are used to in America. The town chooses a girl to be married off to someone away from the city, and the girls are never seen by their families again.
Daryl spots one of the bandits from earlier in the episode, who had gotten away after the attack on Roberto and Justina. Of course, the bandit also spots Daryl, so Daryl leads the men away from the festival and takes them out. Who are the men? Are they actually just bandits, or something more? Hopefully, we will get answers in the next episode or two.
