And with that, the 2022 NFL regular season comes to an end... Good Night!
Feels like we just had week 1 right? On this episode of Double Doinks and Sackles, we talk about those games of week 18 that are worth mentioning. We talk about those gritty Detroit Lions. We talk about the AFC South champion Jacksonville Jaguars. We talk about the sheer emotion of that Patriots/Bills game where we saw not one but two kickoff TD returns for Nyheim Hines and the Bills. And we also talk about the enigma that is the Dallas Cowboys.
For our commercial, we head down to Mission Gorge and talk about the best place west of Duval County for a Jags game.
And then we finally get to our picks for Super Duper Greatest Stupendous Wild Card Weekend. Will all the homers pick their teams for their games this week, or do we see upsets. Either way, we'll Teal with it. Thanks for listening. Let's go playoff football!
Donate Here to Damar Hamlin's The Chasing M's Foundation Community Toy Drive
This week on Double Doinks and Sackles, we discuss the harrowing incident that involved Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin, who suffered cardiac arrest during a play during Monday Night football. We talk about what went through our minds while we watched the events unfold, minute by minute, update by update by the ESPN broadcast. We also talk about the gofundme that Damar Hamlin started and what we learned about the man and his connections to University of Pittsburgh and his community.
Again if you want to donate to his gofundme that supports his community with toy drives, back to school drives, and kid camps, please click the link above.
We also talk about the Week 17 games and preview the Week 18 matchups.
Thoughts and Prayers to Damar Hamlin. Get well soon!
It's the holiday season, we had a few cancellations and our system is a bit out of date, and we're a bit short staffed, so you might have your regular podcast show after the new year... maybe. No Fernando or Chris this week. They were not affected by Southwest but maybe they might be down with a major case of the Holidays!
Onnnnnn this week's episode, Travis and Jimmy G the Statboy talk about Week 16 of the NFL, which felt like a lot of football on Saturday and Sunday with NBA sprinkled in. We also talk about the Jags who are currently in the playoff hunt, all of the cold weather games on the schedule, still a Purdy time in San Francisco, the Eagles lost with Jalen Hurts but it was real close, the Dolphins are not enjoying the month of December, the Broncos have finally reached rock bottom, and the Bucs are in trouble.
And then we preview Week 17 and all the playoff clinching scenarios in play. Who wants the Packers in the playoff hunt? Maybe one San Francisco fan. Have a happy new year and hope you get to your final destinations within a week.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! Hope you are enjoying yourself and there aren't any surprises this holiday season like what happened to Matt Ryan. Speaking of we review an absolutely crazy week 15 of the NFL where there was the greatest comeback in NFL history when the Vikings came back to beat the lowly Colts. We talk about that insane ending to the Patriots/Raiders and we talk about the Pick six that sealed the game for the Jaguars vs the Cowboys.
We have a commercial for Enchanted Village at Noah Homes if you want more Christmas in your life.
And then we preview a very Saturday heavy Week 16 slate of the NFL. We hope you have a great holiday and thank you for supporting Double Doinks and Sackles. We appreciate every listener that gives us a try and anyone else who wants to be taught about football.
This week on Double Doinks and Sackles, we welcome back Chris Walters to the podcast. On this week's show, we talk about the return of Baker Mayfield to the Rams, the Cowboys barely beating the Texans, the Lions doing things to make themselves get into the playoff hunt, the Jaguars also doing things to make people believe, the Panthers still surprising people, and some Purdy Purdy impressive quarterback backups.
This week's commercial is for El Cid Brewing in North Park.
We end with talking about the playoff picture right now and the Week 15 slate of games that includes 3 Saturday games. Thanks for giving Double Doinks and Sackles a listen! We try not to let you choke on all that info.
Take in the Purty Brock Lobster....
Anyway... welcome back to Double Doinks and Sackles. On this week's episode, a recap of Week 13. Travis goes on a mini rant about Deshaun Watson's first game back after 700+ days. Jimmy G the stat boy (who needs a new nickname) talks about what the 49ers will do without Jimmy G and if Purty Brock... I mean Brock Purty will be able to do enough to keep the 49ers ship afloat to probably not the Super Bowl. Fernando talks about his Vikings and how they like to keep it close. Phrasing? Baker Mayfield has a new team that he'll probably not suck playing with?
Our commercial is with Monroe's Market in North Park.
And then we go over the Week 14 slate of games. Tom Brady plays his favorite childhood team this week, can the Chargers hang with the Dolphins, Eagles try to take down the Giants, and who wants to win more... Patriots or Cardinals. Happy last week of your fantasy football regular season!
Now that you've fully recovered from Thanksgiving, it's time to look back at Week 12 of the 2022 NFL season on Double Doinks and Sackles.
In today's episode, we recap week 12. We talk about Jacoby Brissett's last game starting with the Browns, the Jaguars beat the Ravens, two point conversions for the win in two games, Josh Jacobs going off vs the Seahawks, and the Eagles running it down the Packers defense.
Our commercial is about where you should go to watch futbol, or soccer for the gringos.
We then talk about those free agents (like Geno Smith) that increased their value and who we think could take off. And then we preview some pretty big profile games in Week 13 of the NFL season. That QB who shall not be named is back against his former team and then we have these games of note: Bills/Patriots, Packers/Bears, Titans/Eagles, Dolphins/49ers, Chiefs/Bengals, and Saints/Bucs. That's a lot of good football coming at us this weekend.
How is everyone after their Turkey Day feasts? Hope you made room for more football.
On this week's second episode, we recap the three Thanksgiving games (the Lions... so close, the Giants... not great, the Vikings... prime time Kirk Cousins showed up!). We talk about what happened in Week 11 (wow that seemed like weeks ago). The Chiefs and Travis Kelce always love to torture Travis' fantasy team, New York sucks again because the Giants lost and the Jets have Zach Wilson so it's definitely not his fault, the Eagles got revenge for Colts by beating them for their fired coach?
Our commercial is where you should go for that great Thanksgiving meal.
And finally we talk about the remainder of the week 12 games.
A special preview of the games on Thanksgiving! Live on tape from the recesses of the best Dive bar west of the 15. We'll have two episodes this week with the last one sometime this weekend.
Today we talk about the three games on Turkey day. Can the Lions win 4 straight with a win against the Bills? Can the Giants revert back to their early season ways and take care of the Cowboys? And finally will we see a good version of Prime Time Kirk Cousins when the Vikings play host to the Patriots or will he just lay a big stinking turd as he always does when he knows everyone is watching?
OH WHAT'S THAT YOU SAY? WE HAVE A SPECIAL CELEBRITY GUEST COMMENTATOR THIS WEEK? WHO WOULD ... PROBABLY SPEAK ... WITH ALL CAPS... AND DISTINCT PAUSES? WHAT IN... THE "STEPHEN.... A.... SMITH"... IS GOING... ON HERE?
Come get your fill before the tryptophan kicks in. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
And then there were none. Week 10 was a hell of a week and let Double Doinks and Sackles help you process all of that beautiful NFL action.
On this week's episode we talk about that insane Vikings vs Bills matchup and Fernando fell off a couch and should be a meme. A week for Justins, Justin Jefferson is the TRUTH while Justin Fields can run it and throw down on your team. We think the Dolphins are really legit now. We think Jeff Saturday is making all the right moves to help the Colts win. Jimmy Garoppolo is nearly unbeatable when he's mediocre, as Jimmy G the Stat Boy has an amazing stat for you. And let's cheer on the Taylor Heinicke football commies for taking down the last undefeated team.
Our commercial is a little different and might affect the Monday Night game in Mexico.
And finally we look at the current playoff picture and look at who's going to make it and who's a fraud. Then we make our Week 11 picks.
Come listen to Double Doinks and Sackles. We might not have Busch Light, but we do have filling football content.
